Title: The perfect food
Post by: Dago on November 29, 2008, 07:23:48 PM
It's warm cherry pie with vanilla ice cream.

I will risk the calories, it's a gift God made sure we get to enjoy.

Don't give me no stinking pumpkin pie.

As a rebuttal, defense would like to bring http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,228127.0.html (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,228127.0.html) to the courts attention.

That is all.

Skuzzy likes bacon, who doesn't?  Maybe Osama Bin Laden, but still, when you want heaven on a fork, it's a warm cherry pie.

I'll see your bacon & raise you a...BEER!

Heck I'll say beer & bacon are the perfect food, a synergistic pairing...drool; beer, bacon & cornbread (the kind with pork cracklin' in it of course)  if you are a Southerner....double drool.

Beer is liquid bread.

Drink beer. Eat Meat. Drink another Beer. You've just had a sandwich.

A beer also holds about the same calories as a chop/cutlet.
So drink beer, eat a cutlet, drink another beer = 3 cutlets  :devil

What if you're atheist?

Even an atheist would be pleased to be wrong and still end up in heaven.  An atheist who doesn't want "heaven on a fork" is a self-hating retard.

I had Amish neighbors growing up, the Mrs. use to make home made deep dish apple pie, everything came from the farm, from the home made butter/lard for the pie crust to the apples. She even made her own vanilla ice cream and whipped cream from the heavy cream from the milking cows. Honestly i think the only thing she purchased was the vanilla beans for the ice cream and the cinnamon / sugar for the pie.

If heaven could be put in a dish or on a plate, that was it.

One of these days i will have a Chicago dog, man they sound INCREDIBLE!!

Funny you should mention corn fritters, just this morning I was thinking about corn fritters.  My Grandmother used to make them, then my Mother did, and now my wife will on rare occasion.  The wife doesn't make them often as she considers fried food bad for me, but what good is living long if you can't love life and the food that really makes you smile?

Interesting.  My squaddie swinny is in Amish country, PA, (though I don't think he was ever a Amish) and your squaddie, Newman5 is from Chicago like me.   He will tell you the tales of the great Chicago dog.

Where are you at, mbailey, maybe there's a place nearby?

I now live in Center Valley Pa ( a little south of Allentown ) I still live close to Lancaster Pa though.  I'll have to hit Newman up for the best hot dog place in Chi-town, as i may be there this spring.

I'd never heard of them until we moved here to TX. My husband's granny used to make them all the time as well. I make them on occasion ~ maybe only once a year. But if I don't burn them, all of the TxFamily is pretty happy when I make them. :)

But my own #1 food:

cheesecake

Lol- when I saw this thread title I instantly thought of the red velvet cakes one.  Forgot that it was you who started it.

That said, I think that eating something wrapped in plastic like that is horribly irresponsible of you.  That plastic could fall to the ground and create a slip hazard on a tiled floor. Oh, the humanity...  :D

If NEARY was referring to the type of "fondue" I'm used to, chunks of uncooked meat + peanut oil = heaven. Now the melted chocolate and cheese stuff I'll stay away from. Speaking of chunks of meat (under)cooked) in peanut oil...I know what I'm asking about for my birthday dinner.
