This was absolutely hilarious. Tonight I was flying a Bf-109G-14 with the Mk 108 against a P-51D flown by 0LDemon. I was about to overshoot as he was pulling up in front of my nose, and I as I was almost past him (And so close I barely missed colliding) I squeezed the triger, and managed to put a single round into his empanage. I saw the hit sprite, then there was blood on my canopy, then I was in the tower. SYSTEM: 0LDemon shot you down. Ive gone over it again and again in my head (Sadly, since im not on my gaming computer, I dont have a graphics card and dont bother ever recording film) and I can only conclude the explosion of my own 30mm round not only blew off his tail, but since I was so close, pilot-killed me as well! I know there was no collision as neither of us got a collision message. I know the round hit because he confirmed it blew his tail off. And I know he didnt shoot me because he was nose up and never squeezed the trigger. I know its possible to kill yourself with your Mk 108 as ive shot the ground and received damage before, but this is the first time ive killed myself with the explosion of my own round against an enemy plane! Just thought I would share this funny story.

Iv had that happen a few times. The ones that stand out was when skyrock (or Bipolar I cant remember which one it was) and I were DAing in the 109K. We had it happen a few times because each pass we were almost scratching paint.

lol well that stinks, could it be debris from his plane? can that cause damage to your plane in this game? haven't had it happen to me before so i dunno....

No. The only part that causes damage is the part the pilot is in, and he was moving perpendicular to my course and quickly, so he would have been moved even farther from collosion by losing his tail. A collision also wouldn't start with on a pilot-wound then insta-kill.

Another cool one:
I was having a hell of a time killing a pony last night (Some nights I can toss that tater like ive got sniper scope, sometimes I couldnt hit the broad side of texas) so finally, I ended up shooting the water directly below him (And he was LOW!) the resulting explosion killed him! lol. What a lousy way to die...

I've taken out my own engine with an mk 108 hitting a target too close to me.

Be warned ...P-39 cannon shells at point blank ranges. :noid

If you point down, and right before you crash you shoot a 30mm... you will experience a pilots wound from it. Its just ricochet from the round, that hurts you. Although, I have never been killed by a round hitting a plane, I can say that its the same concept.

i had 7 kills in 163 one time, was comin for last pass on Lanc with my remaining 5 shells, fired at close range and blew the lanc and myself up
lets just say i needed a new headset after that

I like when you dive on a con at around a 60-70 degree angle, shoot his tail off, and he backflips into your plane sending you spiralling to the ground minus a wing.

I've had the opposite situation in a Yak-9T. Saw a Pony far above me at at least 4k out. Lobbed a shell in a total guess shot as I was on final and kinda bored, but unable to get into a position to fight him. Hit him right in the face after about two seconds of bullet flight. :D Most amazing shot ever...wish I could blame it on skill.
