Title: Place to get a good price on USB CH pedals?
Post by: eagl on November 30, 2008, 09:23:28 AM
I need some USB ch pedals.  I like the regular ones, not the pro, and I don't think I'm going to be installing my old soundcard so I don't have a gameport anymore.

Anyone know where I can get USB CH pedals for a decent price?

Thanks in advance!

Provantage.com is the one that is most often bounced around. I've bought all of my CH gear there and have never had a complaint. Even got a couple free games with them once.  :)

eagl,
they did away with the old regular CH Pedals.  You will however get some lock-blocks with the USB Pro Pedals to make them work like the rocking type rudders vs the Push Pull way........so the new USB Pro pedals will still work the way you are used to.......

hope this helps

Bummer :(

I'll have to shop around for the CH pro pedals then.  provantage has them for $99 but with nearly $11 shipping.  Amazon has them for $1 less and free shipping.

eagl, I am using a game port-to-USB adapter for my gameport rudder pedals...they show up and work excellent in Windows and Aces High.......

$8.00 to $14.00 is alot better than $100.00

if your pedals still work good.......also if you got to have USB, then check out ebay........  got a brand new CH Fighter Stick for $65.00 a few months back......

Good Luck

tequilachaser,

That's a good idea, but if I was going to use an adaptor then I might as well put in the old soundcard :)  I want to get away from gameport entirely.  Plus, the left pedal pot has a spike right near center and I already replaced it once, so I think it might be something in the pedal geometry or gears that is screwing it up.

I think I'll go for a new one from a name retailer...  I've been burned on ebay a couple of times and I've come to value my personal time at around $100/hr (that's about, on average, what I pay people to do things that I am capable of doing myself but don't have enough time to actually do it myself), so even 1/2 hr dealing with an ebay hassle makes it "cheaper" to go with a regular retailer.

eagl,
I have a pair of the original CH pedals (no toe brakes, just the single axis type) that I put a USB board from a Logitech Attack 3 joystick in.  If you are interested in them, please send me an email.
