Title: Networking for wideview
Post by: Chalenge on December 04, 2008, 10:52:25 AM
I need a bigger house because I have seen this system now and it looks like so much fun. Six 57" monitors and nine networked computers running the Wideview software. Super Traffic Board with live weather updates and synchronizing real world airline flights... you have got to love that!

I'm just wondering, if your going to spend that much money to be in a virtual world, why not get a real pilots license?

Its cheaper to keep it virtual.

Them dweebs with the money want to get it let 'em I say. :D
I haven't that money, so I have already started on a Pilot License. :)

But honestly, if I had the money to waste on that setup I would consider it, looks kinda neat.  Now to win the lottery. :aok

Well if all you want is PPL then I guess you can do that for about the cost of five computers (no giant monitors).

Renting a Piper/Cessna goes for about $100/hr and anywhere I want to go is at least 3 hours away ($600 plus for the trip). I just took a major interest in the Cessna 400 ($650000 to own).

If you want to make money flying it is going to cost a lot more money for the training.

Virtual flying is much cheaper.
