What if we had Europe modeled (more-or-less). What if it was broken into sections. What if, when a side was closed down, along with the reset comes a new piece of Europe centered where the last country lost (simulating the moving of the front).
Example:
The current map piece is C3. Knights are nailed down in the southeastern corner and lose. Reset occurs, next map is D4.
I know, the 3-side thing makes it ahistorical, but it would provide a dynamic terrain of sorts. I know it is also a ton of work, but I can dream. Maybe this is where player-generated terrains can be useful. More, I think multi-frame scenarios could benefit from this type of concept.

I never could understand the current three sided setup with bases sort of scattered all over-I would prefer two "countries", a north and south or east and west setup with 3 large sectors for each country. Each sector would have a different designation for command purposes and different placement of targets (refineries, bases, factories etc). The bomber bases would be farther behind the main front and armored vehicle staging areas closer. Maybe even a major river running between the two with patrol boats and a few bridges.
