Title: Cheating, or glitch?
Post by: Mad0Max on December 07, 2008, 02:10:11 AM
Story:

I was in a TA-152 doing 300+ attacking a group of lancs (got em all!) and when I was about to shoot the 3rd and final one down it jetted to about 400mph and speed off in front of me and banked. I managed to hit alt-r a bit late, but this is what I caught on film. ?The lanc is now 1.5k in front and pulling a high-G turn while doing 320mph. only 47 rounds were left, so I had to get in real close for the kill. That lanc seems a bit more like a fighter instead of a bomber.

So what ya think? glitch? cheat? lag?

Nothing looked out of the ordinary in your film, the lanc is a bomber but is manouverable to a degree.

Absolutely nothing weird, fishy or even special in this film.

And you may choose your title threads more wisely next time... tossing around the "C" word isn't very popular with HTC... just a hint ;)

Ditto: The lanc can dive quite well for a bomber.

MadOMax you made such allegations back in August regarding another player and received some advice as to the proper protocol for reporting suspicious play. Why do you choose to ignore common sense?

INexcusable.

Cheating or glitch? Try 'lock or ban', that's a better question.

I didn't see the film but a about a year ago a squaddie and I were chasing a set of B-24's who were in a climb at around 400 mph for about a sector.  We were in F4U's IIRC in a slight dive and firewalled.  I finally caught and killed them when they slowed down to bomb tank town.

Of course we did the right thing.  We both filmed it and sent in our films with our recounts of the event.  I've never seen that player on-line again.

Now that is the proper way to report an issue.  The INcorrect way is not proper.

HTC has that rule because "a lie can travel halfway around the world before truth puts its shoes on."   What that means is: An allegation of cheating that is false will still linger in the minds of some people despite that it is false- even if proven false to 100% satisfaction of everyone. Perception is like that.

- sorry I cannot remember who originally said that quote.  Perhaps it was Churchill.

Mark Twain said it.

He's good for quotes.
