Title: Dual Head video card and Aces High?? (HTC pls read)
Post by: mason22 on April 27, 2001, 05:19:00 PM
I have a matrox g400 32meg here at work on win2000. When i have he dual head mode on (2 monitors each with independant resolutions) AH will not run. However, games such as Unreal Tournament (which can be played in it's own window vs. full screen mode.) will run when i am in dual head mode.

My question is: Is there special code that is added to give support for a game to run in a seperate window vs. full screen? Am i missing something and AH will run when i am in dual head mode?

just curious (as usual).

Hi mason,

I have Matrox G400MAX 32meg and I can run AH both monitors enabled with no problems. On the second monitor I usually have RW and system monitor open. The AH will detect Primary display and runs on the 1st monitor. - Difference is that I have Win98SE OS and you have Win2000. Matrox released few days ago new BIOS and drivers for win2000. Try if those help.

My problem with G400 is that I can't run it in 32 bit colors 1280x1024 resolution! The clipboard in opening/logging screen it blank white and I can't see any buttons there. (Even with only one monitor activated)

1280x1024 16bit runs OK - and any other resolution than that in 32bit works too... (although the highest is too slow with this card)

I'm running Separate video cards for my dual monitor setup and AH will run fine in both my Win98SE and Win2k boots.  Maybe it's a card-specific problem?

thanks smuli!

i'll try and install the new drivers and see what happens...

SOB, i think you're a card specific problem, but thanks  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)  j/k
