Thx guys. Let me know if any problems with it or how u like it or not, lol. :salute
Most of the allied aircrafts are from real life recordings I got from within the cockpit. The 109's, zeke's and some other axis planes are also real life recordings from within the cockpit.
-
Was sporting that Bad arse 190A5 sound last night in the snapshot. It is BY FAR my favorite engine sound!

I didn't say it wasn't like yours :). I said his 190 sound is the best sound on his SP.
And IDK why you don't have a sticky...i love your sounds.....in process of mixing all my favorite sounds into one file.

Guess u didn't read the readme. It said some sounds came from multiple sources. Sry I didn't mention your name in particular.
BTW, alot of my sounds came from CD's of recordings. I believe the 190 came from a FSX plane I purchased and use in FSX. Ur right, it does sound alot like urs, maybe u got it from the same source. I noticed mine is a alittle higher pitch. I took the files there and modified to work in AH. Zeke's, 109's, p38, p51, spits and a few others came from live recorded CD's I purchased. Most of the files I used from other soundpacks were explosion, hits and some others. I may have also tweaked them to give them more punch/clarity.

just sayin :rofl

Bumping.

This post has a real large STICKY ME! sign somewhere
-
Hmm, it used to be.
-
I had the Old sticky removed as that link was no longer valid. Problem was I didn't know Skuzzy wouldn't sticky the new link because they are gonna review into having to submit soundpacks now before they will sticky them. Aparently there have been alot of issues with some soundpacks that seems to be the most problems Skuzzy find it to be.
-
He always advises not to use them. But hearing that dreaded noise they call plane engine sounds gets old fast...and boring :)
-
GREAT Work! This is my favorite soundpack! Thank you for your effort, it is appreciated!
-
Currently using this sound pack Top Notch stuff!
Thnx. :salute

Thx. Glad you guys like it.

AK I appreciate the work. Some nice sounds. However, I found the jap planes to be 'weird' sounding...rather hard to handle and the sounds variate WILDLY from a nice even level. I had to adjust levels like crazy on each plane to keep things within reality.
IE: Flying in a p51, engine sounds like a fan running instead of an engine...turn it up to hear it, then when you fire you jump 1' out of your seat because the guns are soooooo loud in comparison.
Then when you turn your head, the sounds down change direction...might be a result of using a soudn pack or whatever so.
All in all the sounds are amazing. Nice airraid sounds. If you were to change one thing it would be to level out the sounds and REDUCE the bass on the sounds. I had to reduce my bass to 0 so it didn't shake stuff off of my desk. :) Probably going to try another, mix the two and be happy. :)
Thanks!
BUMP FOR STICKY!

absolutly amazing soundpack guys, but i do have a question.
why does the 190 D9 sound so... muffled as if it were several hundred feet away?

Ty, and yes I know I have to level my sounds out some. Its very time consuming. This pack right here took me 2 months, 5hrs a day to get this far. After that I needed a break, lol.
As for the p51 sounds like a fan, you are correct. Here is the actual in cockpit sound of a p51d:
www.arabian-knights.org/files/P51InCockpitFlight.wma
Problem with Ah sound files is they all have to be in mono at 22khz 16bit. Doing this really takes away from the sound clarity.
-
You're sounds are almost identical to that :aok
-
Here is the real Zero incockpit sound:
www.arabian-knights.org/files/Zero_incockpit.wav
btw, this is from the real only flyinf sakae 21 powered mitsubishi zero.

Seriously? I understand keeping the default sounds down to an easily downloadable size, but for addons like sound packs... shouldn't the size and quality of the sounds/work be up to the artist and player using them?

Nope, the current sound system won't accept higher quality and will crash the game. Even going to a 8 bit can cause crashes. 4 bit definately.

:aok sounds great Dogg

Ok, I updated the F4U eng sounds and cleaned up alot of extra files that were not needed (Helped cut file size down). It is the same link as above but here ya go:
http://www.arabian-knights.org/files/Sketchworks2009.zip
ps: give it 10 mins from the time of this post before you download.
-
OOOO....can't wait 10 minutes....ok....I'm waiting....only 3 minutes..........7 more to go........UUUUUUUUGh
-
Here is the real F4U sound. Was as close as i could get to it being in mono.
http://www.arabian-knights.org/files/realF4U.zip
Keep in mind, the stretching process HTC used on the F4U is strange so I had to change the speed of the game sound to sound like the original when within the game. If u play the file in Windows media player, it sounds real fast but it won't in the game.
BTW, file is done uploading.
-
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO UPLOADING!
Was waiting on an F4U update...we'll see how this is....
-
:O I likey t3h new sounds!
check PMs
-
Here is a modified wind sound for the corsairs that was posted in another thread. When u go to install it in the f4u folders, just rename it to wind.wav and rename the old to something else "wind1.wav".

I just wanted to say these are simply brilliant. :D WTG!

I just wanted to say these are simply brilliant. :D WTG!
Thx yossarian.
I did find a fault in my pack that I need to fix and its the explosion sounds in all the bomber folders. I have to delete all the explosion sounds execpt explosion1. The other explosions are wrong and are muffled.
-
Just bumping so people can find it.
-
Get Skuzzy to sticky it.
-
He won't sticky Sound packs anymore. He said they are giving him to many headaches with people systems.
-
Then he should un-sticky the current ones
-
Then he should un-sticky the current ones
+1

+1
:O TB agrees with me....write it down folks! :lol j/k TB
I just think it would be fair. Either un-sticky them and put all the links into one stickied thread, add them to the "Downloads" page, or just plain un-sticky them and make people look for them. Logic and fairness
-
Just bumping for a few to find it easier.
-
Thanks for your effort AKDog,
one problem I'm having is i cant hear enemy hits on my plane or GV as well as i used to ???
I've adjusted the levels but no improvement.
Can i remove your sounds and go back to the game sounds for only this?
Rest is GREAT.
-
Yes, you should be able to. You just have to know the name of the sound.
A little side note Dogg, I don't seem to hear any "damage" sounds in some aircraft (you know the hit sound that lets you know you took damage).
-
will look into it
-
Bumpin ain't easy!
-
Great job thanks
-
hmm sounds like mine
and i cant even get a sticky :huh
I use yours :aok :salute

Is it me, or does the B-25 sound a little week?Or too quiet. It just doesn't sound correct to me. If anything, the A20 sounds closer to a B-25 than the B-25 does. The B-25 has the upper cylinders go to a collector exhaust, but the bottom cylinders are just short stacks. Thus you get a louder sound and plus at idle you get short little back fires due to some of the cylinders being more lean at idle than others.
Just an observation. Most all the others are great. The R2800, allison, merlin, griffon.....the P-38 is spot on and so it the B-17. I spent a great deal of time with all the allied aircraft from 90-98. Maintaining a collection of about 25 aircraft. Brings back great memories. :aok
:salute
-
TY Dustoff. I will relook at the b25. I believe I have a recording here of it and I will compare it again.
-
Are you also going to make I16 and Brewster packs as well.
I would hope so ;)
-
We dont taxi too much in AH but if anyone has ever heard a restored B-17 taxi it has the squeakiest brakes you have ever heard. I dont know if new forts in the 1940s sounded like this but it would be cool to have this sound, even as aggravating as it is.
-

I would love to have this but unfortunately, AH only uses 1 file for engine sound unlike FSX. FSX actually uses 4 files for the engine running sound. 1 for idle, 2nd for about 1500rpm, 3rd for approx 2400 rpm and 4th for approx 3600 rpm. Plus FSX uses stereo sounds for the plane u flying. All the planes around you are mono. This is why FSX sounds so much better and realistic compared to AH sounds.
