Title: send a free postcard to servicemember overseas:
Post by: texasmom on December 10, 2008, 10:51:45 AM
Website which allows you to send a free postcard to a servicemember overseas:
http://www.letssaythanks.com/Home1024.html

The Xerox "Lets Say Thanks" program. You wouldn't get to pick the servicemember that it goes to, but that's okay. They'll all appreciate it. :)

Mom, in th end , it's the thought that counts. Most of the stuff we got/get is from VFW's/American Legions and the usual school kids and religious institutions. Rare have I seen anything from Joe/Jane Q Public. This soldier thanks you for just for suggesting. <S>

I'm glad you guys sent postcards. As much as I'd like to take credit for the find, it was my brother who sent it to me.  ;)

I always rell people when they thank me, " you need no thank me, thank our families, especially the wives, who allow us to do what we do "..I am a dad like all the other dads...For me it has been tough..I was in my second month of my 2nd deployment when I flew home to Alaska on emergency leave because my newborn son, Aiden, requires open heart surgery. So after just moving to FT Wainwright, Ak just this past February..I am in a hotel room outside FT Lewis, Washington awaiting re-assignment. So, we are not superhuman, just average people doing a job/service. It is tough to serve, all the things you miss(2 out of 3 births missed). I have served for the last 17 yrs with little or no regrets. Being away from home, you realize that you miss all the little things in life that most other take for granted. I thank you all for supporting us, eventhough some dont support why we are there. I think I digressed and rambled on enough.. <S>
