Title: .45 cal shooting contest
Post by: ToeTag on December 11, 2008, 08:50:36 AM
Would be funny to have a shooting contest on sundays just to spark a little friendly competition.  Maybe have enemy troops running back and fourth to simulate the county fair ducks.  OOOOH and some sheep too.  :rock  We could also have 10 on 10 shootouts in the indestructable :rofl

If two people get ticked @ each other on 200 they get sent to have a duel   :t pistols @ Dawn :t

i would love that!!

but i think that the powers that be would reject the idea based upon its similarity to the millions of first person shooter games that are overwhelmingly predominant in the world today.

would be fun but unlikely

Just get a real .45 and come down to Texas any weekend.

I'd be happy to kick your bellybutton in person. :lol

I shoot a Glock-9mm.  But I could pick your ears off @ 30yds.  Head shots all day @ 50yds.

my dad and my uncles on his side of the family are all twisted like that. its amazing the kind of shooting they can do with weapons that we would just toss aside thinking garbage!

my dad with a 30/30 winchester doing walking hip shots at a 22 practice target at 50 yards away took 7 steps and with each step fired a shot. all 7 shots landed within about a 2.5" diameter grouping just a touch low and to the right of center.

wish i had half the skill as my unckle roland with a hand gun (any cal). he makes you almost believe all of the old wildwest shoot out stories could be true. but then again they all grew up in the 40's and 50's in the back woods of maine, so for them have guns around was a constant and hunting for supper was actually a regular event.

Doesn't surprise me, some of the best shots I know are in their fifties (my father included). I've taken a few tactical handgun classes myself (at TDSA) and I'm at a level you could say was 'pretty damn well above average'.

Damn, you need to see the video of my exit test there. I couldn't believe I shot so fast. 12 rounds, 2 on each target, 3 steel plates at 15 yards, 2-2-2 reload 2-2-2. Final score; 5.89 seconds. (IIRC... I know for a fact it was five-something.)

WOW!! First video, you could hear the round making it's return back to the guy and then watch it bounce off the ground and then hit the guys earmuffs. Second video, I think he needed to hold on just a tad bit tighter.  :lol

yea lol, and when he shoots the gun, look at the ground, the dirt rises, but that had to be a 5 mile shot because it would have torn his head off

I don't have it..... Wish I did, though. I don't think they ever gave me a copy. Would have been nice to get one.

Well, maybe instead of that, you could use troops to DEFEND towns, using bazookas and mortars, maybe some AT mines. And then, you could duel with something more in the B.A.R. family. :devil

We used to perform paintball competition in H2H. We would all spawn on different parts of the runway, bail, then upon the word, "GO!" We would run at our opponents and start shooting. Yes, the magazine was HUGE, and so was the fun.

That would be cool. Maybe it would have been nice to have to qualify with your handgun before they let you into the plane in the now defunct CT setup.

During the finale race of the Racing League (see signature) there's usually an even where everyone bails in the hanger, spreads out, then on a mark begins shooting until Last Man Standing.
