Title: Dachau Concentration Camp - Detailed drawings or photos?
Post by: Golfer on December 12, 2008, 12:53:26 AM
I'm having trouble finding very detailed maps or photographs of Dachau.  My grandmother gave me some photos my grandfather kept from the war and his Bn's summary of action. (sadly all the other documents were destroyed in the St. Louis fire) I reconstructed his tour of Europe using Google Earth.  One of the photos, which I will NOT post here, is of 12 men loading dead prisoners of the camp into a truck.  Crosschecking where he was and the times various camps were liberated he was in the immediate area on 25 April and didn't leave until 2 May.  The camp was liberated on 29 April which means he was there and that's something I didn't know until now.

I'm basically looking for a detailed photograph(s) of the camp so I can pinpoint exactly where this photograph was taken.  I've found a lot of websites about the camp and some excellent aerial images but nothing with the quality I'd like to see.  An aerial reconnaissance photo would be great!

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!
