If you haven't seen it check out www.saitek.com (http://www.saitek.com) and look under PC gaming ...next cyborg range.... then look for cyborg x ps38.

I've only gone through one ST290 Pro (on my second one now). Think I spilled a little too much beer in the first one :t
Took it out back, thrashed it, kept the joystick handle itself for spare buttons should the need arise. #2 has lasted a good 6-7 months so far with no issues. *knocks on wood*
Being that it's only a $20 stick, after #1 locked up on me, the beating it took afterward was more than compensation for having to drive 5 miles to Wal-Mart to get a replacement :)

No, it really is that much of a crap shoot, as far as how long they last. I've had about 5-6 of them, and the variance is pretty large. The worst lasted just a month and a half before flaking out, and the best one a year and a half. I think the X45 was the longest lasting one. They are simply too cheaply furnished, no matter how cleverly designed.
