Title: Can I do This?
Post by: lowZX14 on December 12, 2008, 02:09:31 PM
Not sure if I can do this, and didn't bother using search.....

Has anybody used a CH Fighterstick with the throttle from an X-52?  I did like the throttle when I had it especially the rotating wheels for my rpm's.  Is it a good idea or is the CH throttle that much better?

i have a cougar setup and an x52 setup. when i first switched from the x52 i used the cougar stick and x52 throttle.

as long as you are not using the software of either of them and program them by using the setup in AH i don't see why they should conflict or give you any problems.

i am still using my saitech peddles with my cougar set up, no issues.

You can mix and match, use AH for the programing not included software

Yes and Yes

Just make sure everything works in Windows before starting AH.
Assign axis and map everything in AH.

Right on, thank you guys very much for the info, I think I'm going to go with the X52 throttle versus the CH and get the Saitek pedals since I've heard more good from them vs the CH pedals.

The CH Throttle will give you a few more inputs vs the Saitek throttle but other than that you should be fine.

I use this setup right now.   It works fine and you DO NOT need the X52 connected as some might tell you.

If it lasts until Spring, I'll be getting the CH Throttle to complete a CH setup.

I'd go with CH pedals.   I'll no longer recommend Saitek.

Whoever has been talking to you about Saitek pedals isnt right in the head. Nothing beats CH pedals throttles or sticks. Nothing.

Hmmmmmmm I may have to re-evaluate.  Any reason for the complete CH setup Mash?

Sorry but I have to disagree. I've used 'em both and find the Saitek peds a cut above for the following:
1. Footrests can be adjusted to shoe size.
2. Tension can be adjusted.
3. The footrests seem a bit further apart..maybe only by inches but my legs always felt scrunched together with the CH peds
4. They came with Velcro strips to lock em down on carpet.

I'll take CH sticks and throttle gear over Saitek any day of the week but in this case.

Have to agree with Max here.  I'm using a CH combatstick with the Saitek peds.  I have gone through 2 sets of CH peds and had bad luck with both.  One set I sent back to CH, they replaced the pots, but I still had spiking problems.  I went through every "fix" I could find.  I broke down and bought the Saitek peds and I couldn't be happier.

The Saitek pedals are extremely more comfortable to use and are rock solid.  The added features of adjustability and comfort are well worth the investment.  Just a personal opinion, YMMV.

The quality is second to none.   I'm telling you, go CH.   Learn from my mistakes and other like me.
