Downloaded Warbirds today, just to remind myself of old times.

Neon tracers, 190s feel different, Dora (!!!!) and no 3D cockpits.

Well, no 3D cockpits, but those are beautiful looking 2D pics. And metric system. In 190 it felt like home. Immersive gauges, nice looking cockpit frames...well, you get the picture.

After going back to AH, I just felt bad about our cockpits.

I know those are apples and oranges, but remember Janes WW2 fighters ? Even EAW cockpits ?

Sigh, will this ever change ?

Yea when whill it ever chage that LW drivers seem the most complaining people in any game out there .....

Duck, I think also because of a few bad apples, all LW complaints are now treated as whines. I've seen lotta whines coming from non LW drivers as well, but these are just sorted out as general whines or "constructive criticism".

Me, I am sick and tired of the LW whine whiners.

Out of self imposed frustration, I DLd WBs a few nights back.

Brought back many memories.  I tried out the P39, FM2, Ki84......a few others.

I really enjoyed flying there again, even off line.  I missed the AH tracers and actually enjoyed the absence of head bobbing.  I missed the AH view system tremendously but enjoyed seeing that old island terrin.  Still looks great to me.  I enjoyed the compression and engine reving under load and wished AH would bring those features in ASAP.  I missed the culminous clouds but enjoyed seeing those strataspheric whispy clouds.   In WBs HiRes the cockpits looked simple but were functional, still preferred AH here.

Lastly, I was impressed with how flyable the WBs FMs really are.  Seems I had forgotton this.  They seemed more stable but perhaps the AH head bob interefers with that perception.

I dont know.  When WB3 comes out, and if it is priced competetively with AH, it could be a serious contender for my money.  Would need 3D cockpits though.......
