It is really time to get a new dmg model for the 190, i startet to fly it again after a week of non-LW planes and WOW all of my runs were ended by 1-2ping engine or radiator hits.
I can learn to live with the poor performace of the 190 compare to other late war planes (cause noone here will ever accept a LW plane that kicks a P51 around) but that dmg model is total crap.
In the allied planes 1-2 pings never do any major dmg, and when i was killed than i never fell to engine or radiator dmg, always it were a plane part like stabilizers or wing that caused the death.
Now i jumped in the FW190 again and only eng or radiator hits.
I can only say that this is total BS and even the most pathetic allied pilot should see this.
Also is the 190 much to weak. Today i shot one down with 3x20mm pings from my D9 (from 6 oclock at 550 yrds) but the NIKI i meet after this wasnt even hurt by 4x20mms from high 12@400-yrds. Now this is even more crapy.
But as always the community will call me a LW whiner and the facts will not be recognized, so all "LW-whiner" callers shut up and post ur crap elsewhere. I want a serious answer from HTC to this issue.

Gimme the numbers, you whiner !

Actually, the p51 still suffers from a majority of radiator and engine hits. And it only takes one or 2 pings especially from the hispano totin birds. Just last night a spit hit me with one ping last night from 500yds on my dead 6 and killed my radiator in one ping.
Now not saying you're wrong about the 190, this could very well be true as I fly it very little, just stating from my experience with the p51 that it definitely has some form of major damage with just 1 - 2 pings from most guns except for the 303s.
Bane

yeah, and a long range single ping from a .303 gun breaks off the vert stabilizer and wings off a P-38 too!
Get in line Naudet, we all waiting for some shtuff to get fixed.
*looks at his ticket stub*
argh, 6 versions to go...

i dare not even mention this anymore.Ive been accused of wanting to 'take over the world' because i fly LW, I apparently want all the flyers to heel click me or bow down in awe of me.Im totally biased and want some sort of advantage over the 'allies'.
Naudet it WILL NOT CHANGE.I gave up asking and cancelled for this sort of thing. They will demand proof of what you 'feel' and will dismiss your veiws and call you pathetic names like children in a kindergarden( ;) 'ach it slippen-sie out').If you say you suspect its only on the 190 suddenly you are a Luftwaffe loon like i supposedly am.Id just keep quiet and suffer it or quit if you feel its getting you down.
now where is that SS uniform......i need to wear it in the bath.
sheesh

S!
About the DM.Much is contributed to net lag and ping times. When a good night occurs to me with little lag or very good ping(below 200ms),the DM seems to be "better".I have almost no packet losses even at high ping latency.
About the damage.P51 was known to have a weak radiator,it was placed under/behind the pilot.Especially ground fire was not good for P51(ETO,Korea).So any shots from low 6/12 should kill the P51 radiator, even with lousy MG's,with cannon no doubt.
Niki seems to be tough one to kill, but engine and tail seem to be it's weak spots.
P47.Aim for wings. They fall off pretty easily and the tail ain't too sturdy either.
P38.Tail definitely.Short burst from MG's kill it.
Zeke.Flying Zippo,so place good hits all over it ;)
F4U.Tail again.Very durable fuselage, but with no tail doesn't fly that well anymore ;)
190.Get one of Yer golden bullets to the engine and that's it. ;)
109.Radiator(engine in general) and tail.Seems to be most vulnerable parts.
F6F.Tail again. No question it is the weakest part.
IL-2.Engine from low 6 or wings and of course the tail if You get it off before the 12.7mm rips Ya apart.
B26.Wings and tail are weakest spots. Also a good high 12 HO kills the pilot pretty easily.
B17.If Ya get the B17 napping and get a good HO,the pilot dies or it bursts into flames and dies.Otherwise quite tough bird.
Lancaster.HO or slashing attacks from below/above.Wings are weakest and especially the twin tail ;)
Ju88.Wings and tail.Pretty easy to kill in HO,because of the glazed nose.
TBM.This sucker dies easily because of weak tail.Shoot it off and watch the desperate fireworks ;)
Spit.Weak wing and engine, also tail section seems to fall off pretty easily, even with MG's.
PT.Dive from zenith and shoot the middle section, blows up nicely and can't shoot at Ya.
LTV's.From above or behind. Not experimented best technique yet.
In general the tail seems to be weakest spot on ANY plane,so a good burst or snapshot can do the trick.

you dont know the oddities of certain aircraft till you fly them as your main ride.
I flew 190a5 last tour and nearly all of my deaths in this plane were related to my engine being destroyed completely by 1 single ping
however the p38 suffers similar wierd weaknesses in its tail and engines. the engines can easily be destroyed by 1 ping and the tail is the first to go similar to the glass tail on the TBM :(
-
tell me about it. 400mph zoom climbed in front of the nose of a lancaster (at d600), hears one of them soft .303 pings and CRACK! went the entire tail section and 1 wing.
methinks HT forgot to put armour on earlier planes :D
-
lanc has 50cals tac ;)
-
Hazed-,
Lanc only has .50s in the tail. The nose and dorsal are .303s. He zoomed in front of it, so the nose and dorsal are all that should have been hitting it.
-
Buff guns seem to fire in all directions regardless if the fuselage or tail are in the way. Just take a B17 and fire the guns to one side, then look at the F3 view from the front. Zoom in in the nose and you will see one of the chin/cheek guns is turened 180 fully degress to the side you fired and its breech section is actually OUTSIDE the plane, thus the gun is firing through the gunners cockpit and through the fuselage. How I adore AH realistic buff model.
And yes this is a complaint and whine, so AssKisser(whoever) dont bother saying anything . :)
-
GRUNHERZ,
Yes, it is true that buff guns sometimes have to much of field of fire, partiucularly on the B-17, but I think you will find, should you examine it, that the Lancaster's tail guns will not fire forward.
The Lancaster's guns seem correct to me.
-
lanc has both 303 and 50s? wow thats news to me.
-
Karnak- check it yourself.
F3 offline and use F8 to pivot the view, the lanc's .50 cals can reflex themselves past 90`. If the target was high enough the lanc was firing every gun on board at it.
-
Sorry,
You're right, it does. Interestingly though, it only does that if you are in the nose turret. If you are in the top turret it doesn't fire past 90 degrees.
-
Naudet, agree completely with you. At least, 190A8 and F8 should be well armoured planes, and I suppose that the extra weight that makes them to climb like buffs are just due the extra armour. I cant see the effects of this armour, one ping = serious damage almost all the time, and mostly engine stopped.
-
But did the ONE ping implie that it was just SINGLE bullet/shell kill you ?
Ie if in my mighty hispano dweeb Tify I put 4 shell at convergence on you how many ping will your hear ? 1,2,3 or 4 ?
I bet you will just heard 1 but receive 4 shells anyway :p

I have to admit the radial engined 190's seem overly vulnarable to engine damage.
My spit usualy looses the aerlirons first, not the wings.
Tempests can wing rip pulling up hard from fast level flight, which seems wrong (but I don't *know* if it is)
The Ta 152's wings seem too weak in that regard too.
Zeke's seem too robust, in comparison to other planes. They're hard to hit, but having got one in position, they seem subjectively to absorb the same punishment as an F6, which defiantely feels wrong.
But I have no data....

Today i again did the stupid thing to fly 190s only.
Dmg reports:
1st run D9 radiator dead
2nd run A8, engine dead
3rd run A8, engine dead
4th run D9, engine dead
5th run D9, engine dead
hmmhh that looks again like 100% of the runs ended by engine/radiator dmg
and again all time this was the result of the 1st pings i took, after this the other parts of the bird took dmg, will do the same this week with this funny allied titanium birds
-
Why do I never see these things except on very rare occasions?
hmmmmmmmmm me thinks tactics need to be revised.

I'm not a LW pilot but of the times I have flown LW it was usually in a 190 I can tell you that most if not all of deaths were due to engine/radiator damage as well. I'm no historian so I'm not going to make any claims on what it should be like. I just felt that I would provide my experiences with the 190.
