When I first log into the game my Ch Stick does not want to move down the runway. My take offs are so slow but once I calibrate I'm back in business for a while. Once I log off it happens again. Any ideas? I'm using a powered hub but I'm thinking of hooking everything directly to the computer.

How was AH installed if your using Vista (which sounds like)

Pretty easy to calibrate each time you log in. I have a list I go through:
Calibrate
check eny
.showjoin 0
.squelch (## different people)
.airplane 1
check convergence and fuel
look for bomber activity
.fly

Try installing on a different USB port. Chalenge didnt we have this issue in another thread and it was the system hardware starting to fail? ( I am old memory is not that of what it once was)

If you're not already, I recommend using a powered USB hub with any CH product and make sure that the powered USB hub outputs 5 volts. I recommend dlink or Belkin, I have never had any issues with either of those powered hubs and both use the 5 volt standard.
Of course, you should also check to make sure that the pots aren't dirty or dying, but it sounds more like a powered USB issue the gear isn't getting sufficient voltage to run properly. Any contact cleaner is sufficient to clean the pot contacts.

How do I clean my pots? There is a chance a pizza, 12 inch subway club, and 3 hamburgers got into the stick.

Remove the base from the stick and use contact cleaner and a Q-tip to clean the two contacts you see on the potentiometers (the contacts are those little "tongues" that the wires connect to on the potentiometer). Make sure the contacts are dry before connecting the wires to them again. Put the base back on, connect the joystick, recalibrate in Windows and AH and then see if the problem exists.

CH will replace your pots for $6 - basically the cost of S&H

Getgback a lot of guys have to recalibrate. I do not think this is unusual but try calibrating in your profiler first, then in game. It makes a difference.

You didn't mention a throttle, but before I had mine I used my Z axis as my CH throttle.
Every time I start Aces High, before I take off for the first time, I set my Z axis on the joystick (that I use for RPMs) and the throttle, to minimum. As the engine starts when I hit the runway, I move them both to maximum. I only have to do that once. For some reason they don't always work right, unless and until I move them through their full range of motion. I don't actually run a calibration, just move them the full range. Then they work fine. It might work for you.

No, it's more like the brakes are on. I've done what you mentioned.

I tried to take seperate the base after removing 4 screws, one said "Warranty voided if removed". However, The base never came off. Are there screws under the rubber pads that I need to take out. All I managed to do was bugger up my base trying to separate it from the stick. Additionally I then had issues getting the computer to find all the components. Didn't even think I was going to get on. It turned into a nightmare for a time.

I never put those screws there as the four other ones are plenty.

think they charge more now unless they've lowered their price. Think potentiometers go for $10 for single one.

The thing is, with USB devices you're not supposed to recalibrate often, only when you unplug and reconnect the device. It is often a sign that something maybe wrong when you have to constantly recalibrate your USB device.

My Saitek loses calibrattion everytime my computer shuts down, I just need to re-calibrate everytime I log on if my computer's been turned off

With Vista I figured out that if I load the CH Control Manager before launching AHII I wont have to calibrate but if I forget I will have to. So I just made it part of the routine since I dont see why I would need the CHCM since I use AHII to program all the functions anyway.
