About 3 mins ago Tripl5 took control of CV82 and lined it up perfect for the enemy lancs inbound resulting in the lancs sinking the CV easily. Trilp5 was not in the area of 82, not on the guns defending nor in an aircraft defending nothing. Seems he was upset with some of the guys at 82 not playing "his way" and doing as he commanded, so he decided since we would not do as he wanted he turned the boat in harms way and was else where.
The CV control system is a good idea for rank in my opinion but only if your in the area. I hope that a control system can be put in place in the future that if your not on the CV or in a gun or in an Aircraft attached to that CV group, then you can not control it. I think this type of system would stop some bantering and arguing

What Again?
It ain't the first time!!!

Yup hopefully soon.
-
Good idea! I dont know enough about how this code works in game, but that shouldn't be too too hard.
Really Good Idea!!!
-
I try my best to not jump on the band wagon and hammer on Trip when 99% of the people in the game do, but antics like this,(and this ain't the 1st time), make me wonder why I even bother.

Along with the (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/furious.gif) he'll spew 'cause it's not "his way... " Tripl5 has earned another Macro...
".squelch tripl5"
....of which there are now 6 folks who belong on that single button...
Quite an easy fix... really!
Congrats 555

That is sad!
-
Not the same but along those lines, I hate when someone on the other side has a second account that he/she uses to occupy the shore battery, keeping others out while the enemy CV is in range. IMO this situation should be handled by rank.

This is not the first time tripl has done this Tildeath. Pondscum is the term. Usually, higher ranked pilots use good judgement in CV control but there is always PONDSCUM out there!

Rank is there to get chicks, not this crap... :furious
-
The problem is the rank system.... very easy to rank high.

The problem is the rank system.... very easy to rank high.
While this is true, as evidenced by my own rank. I'm more interested in creating a solution for an obvious problem, not debating the merrits of the ranking system. Maybe a timeout system could be put into place where if you didnt fire the gun within X amount of time, you where automatically thrown out of it.

Just a mild hijjack first... many a time was manning a SB waiting for the CV finally getting into the gun's arc... all the while hearing incessant rants about that lame spies manning the SB and not shooting ;)
Back on topic: While "being on CV or attached to a plane that took off from it (which is already tracked by the game)" has its merits, it also has a big drawback:
Off peak time, a CV still some distance away from it's target - and suddenly Lancs appear to sink it. Now I can at least give the CV a last-minute evasive course, even though I am not near, just like anybody else. When you have to be at the CV in such a situation, it's unlikely somebody will be there quick enough...
-
The problem is the rank system.... very easy to rank high.
The reason why it's so easy to rank high is the long laundry list of things needed to do it. One might think that would make ranking high difficult, but it has the opposite effect because a lot of people are not interested in competing in the more obscure categories, like....
capture a field in "attack" mode
fire rockets from a pt boat or the sdk
use a wirbelwind to take down buildings to improve hit %
fly a C47 for field capture
bomb a strat without drones (for bombing %)
-------------
I'm not sure how much I like the idea of having to be attached to a cv in order to control it. If I'm in the area of one and I see it's heading straight for a pt spawn or a sb (usually the default rout is sending it to its death), I move it.
-
lmao@(http://home.comcast.net/~prgault/girlfight.gif) :rofl
-
Being able to move it is ok as is. The ability to take control, ie Command it, is the issue. As discussed in many other threads, having to be connected to the cv either in gun or plane is a good way to remedy the situation.

I like that idea. You can control a cv without being attached to it, but to take it away, or retain control over someone's attempt to control it, you have to be attached to it. That would deliver the best of both worlds.
-
I said it before when someone takes control of the cv they should be restricted to the bridge with F3 or F5 modes to look around for threats. If the person jumps in any vehicle plane, LVT, PT whatever he automaticaly loses command. Unless someone can give me an occurance when "Bull Halsey" said ..............(squeeeker voice) "IM BORED" and jumped in the nearest F4 and flew away to battle the japanese??

People who pay for this online experience should not have to put up with this guy pushing us over the fun cliff, to boost his twisted ego. This guy will make you want to cancel your subscription. Paying customers need protection from his childish antics. I vote for Throw The Bum Out on grounds of Unreasonable Behavior. I call it Control Freak - ism and I for one don't come to Aces High for that type of experience. This is not a small matter to me this dude is way way out of line consistently. No one should abuse CV control and hit the brakes on fun like he's a Rock Star CV God Hero. I'm not buying It. Who ever is in command of the Fleet if gets SUNK, the Captain should "GO DOWN WITH THE SHIP". In this case the CV and not be able to leave the fleet until it respawns. After all with COMMAND comes RESPONSIBILITY. aka dBrose of Kung Fu Flying

Im partial to this one (http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e219/educ8athome/Avatars/girlfight.gif)
Anyway, making somebody stay attached to the cv will in some cases stop this kind of behavior but whats to say the guy stays in the tower on the cv then just goes afk for 6 hours. Maybe a time limit or something!

LMAO, I'm sure if I were a rook i'd be requesting a perma squelch list from HTC, Trip would be at the top of it

Indeed. It shouldn't be too hard to code so that Player X has to be attached to or in flight from CV XYZ to have command of it.
Edit:

Edit:Why do you think it's mostly Rooks who ask for it on here? :P
Guess I never put much thought to it, all makes sense now! :rofl
I do think it's an excellent idea that you need to be attached, but then what happens when someone just sits in the tower and lets it die anyway? I guess there's no way to fix that if someone's vengeful enough. As far as people putting their shades in the SBs, I've made a mental note of everytime it's happened, and it's almost always when the Knights are attacking a base, there's someone in the SB that won't be shooting. I'm not pointing fingeres, just stating what i've noticed
-
Well...even if someone just sits in the tower, it WILL solve 99.9% of the complaints we're getting now about it. Only other bad thing about it is when there's no one by it and someone would have to bail out and turn it. Happens on squad channel a lot, when someone's busy fighting off cons and they call out someone on VOX to turn it real quick.
-
Tripl5 is the only fool I automatically put on squelch when I see him, or even worse hear him. The sad thing is if/when he see's this thread he'll just do this stuff more. Whats even sadder is he's no kid but supposedly a grown man.
He'd be easier to take but for that whiney, sniveling voice. That "waaa, waaaa, waaaa".
-

:noid Nobody would do such a thing...... :lol
Its been seen several times before and posted about it, thats why we would like to see an ID tag of the player manning guns, yet Santa still has not come through this year with it. Maybe next year. :(

You're right, maybe physically being in the tower or one of the guns would need to be required. I guess it would make things a little more realistic seeing as how in real life, the captian was on the bridge, not out in a plane.

To combat just that scenario you would only have to implement a cost in perks should said cv be sunk while you're in Command. To keep folks from putting the cv in harms way then jumping ship before it is sunk is a simple fix also. When you take Command of a cv group and then relinquish Command you are still responsible, perk wise, for the safety of the force for 15 minutes or until someone else moves or takes Command of the group.
This simple fix would also keep folks who are flying off the deck but in control of the cv from not paying attention to that cv as they fly.
-
Pretty simple indeed. Can't drive the CV if you're not on-board. Physically impossible.
Coogan
-
problem is noone who can fly or gv is going to bother sitting on the bridge of a CV which takes 30min to cross 1 sector for long enough to do anything useful with it. gunning on a buff sortie would be more entertaining. and we all know the calibre of player who would elect to do that, and their tactical prowess. you know what i'm saying here ... ;)
-
Oh, this kind of behavior enrages me. Its not just Tripl5. I see it all the time. The system they currently have is only good at keeping complete nooblets from taking the cv hostage. Other than that, rank is a terrible way to lock out CV control. Just because you are in the top 500, doesn't mean you are any good...not even close. The idea ive always had is to implement a voting system. If some idiot with a low rank decides he wants to take the CV hostage, thats fine, but if enough people vote to override him, (not sure how many people that should be) then he gets kicked out of the commander seat, and cant control a cv in any arena for 12 hours or so.

That might work..but then you affectively are giving a squad control of the CV, cause that is what will end up happening. And then starts the squad wars. And those who are not in a squad or like Luche who are the only members of a squad, don't ever count on controlling a CV.

I like almost everyone...but i thank god everytime I log on and see Tripl5 is not Bish anymore. Watadusch!
:aok I too found the bish country channel much more tolerable since his departure.
I think it was 5 or 6 months ago but Tripl5 pulled the exact same manuever on a CV that I and a few others were using. After speaking with him a moment I realized he has some problems playing nice with others.

Yah..that is a drawback. I think for the most part, if someone is doing a good job, squads will play nice. There really is no perfect system though. I would rather have an entire squad take it over some spiteful dweeb. At least if a squad has it, they are most likely using it legitimately. I don't do much base capturing. Every once and a while I get the urge to help with it, and almost every time theres a cv involved, some idiot takes it directly to the shore battery. I consider myself a cv noob, and even I know not to do that. I have to come to the conclusion that a good percentage of the time, its done on purpose by someone with a 2nd account, or someone who just likes to piss people off.
-
... or a way to get LVT4s into range - its the best way of suppressing SBs if your on the ball ;)

AhhhhhhhhhhMen!! Just what I was thinking.
-
Off topic, but it'd be nice if you were able to lock a CV from flight for a period of 10 minutes. You hate it when you and the squad are sitting in the guns pounding down a town, waiting to get close enough for LVTs and not flash the darbar, when 549063 ups a plane and flies directly over the field, thus ruining the plan.
-

I believe this would be the best solution for the problem!! Im not a coadr but i would think it would be easy to implement this since the perk system is already in play! :aok

Spikes....... No can do.... you would then infringe on others fun. Some are looking for the fight not trying to sneak in anything.

Yeah, I remember a similar incident..About a yr ago in JAN..
LW Blue, Pretty new map at the time.. Small map, Brown one,
with water that kinda looks like the baltic sea.. Has GV spawns
across the water.. Can't remember what its called?
A pickup group of us, (6) did a long range NOE Knit port steal...
Right between the Bish and Nits.. (right under both their noses)..
Then sank the Knit CV with shore Batts, before the redguys
could get it out of range.. WOOO, They were PIZZED off, LOL!!!
Then came a hellacious 3way fight to keep the port until
the CV popped... We barely saved the port twice... Major
Knit GV/AIR attack to recap the port.. Also, Bish were trying
to horn in on the fight too, goin after the port.. It was a wild one...
When the CV finally came up.. Bish and Knit were both tryin
to clobber it.. Somehow w good shootin and lots of luck, we
skinnied it out of the hellhole.. Cruiser sunk, CV burnin... Leaving
the Bish and Knits fightin over the port.. We made it north into
the channel, heading east to safe territory.. Killing ord at all the
enemy bases along both coasts, to protect our prize..
We put out a tremendous effort, and were successful...
Then, just when we were ALMOST CLEAR of any threat!!!
Our Hero appears, and just swipes control of the CV away
from our guy.. Then points it right back into the Hornets nest..
Gets it sunk...
He had NOTHING to do with the fight to get the CV in the
first place, made NO contribution in the battle to keep it..
But he just TOOK it anyway, cuz his rank allowed him to...
Our HERO!!!
My blood still boils when I think about that...

Well, he does pay his 15 bucks like the rest of us. Being a tool is not really grounds for kicking someone out of the game. The squelch option is always available. :salute

The squelch option does not prevent him from antics like this.
( as a sidenote, he is one i auto squelch the moment i enter the arena and find him there)
I pay my 15 bucks a month too, and i am sure myself and many others dont pay it to have our game experience disrupted by stuff like this he does.

You did the exact same thing to DeMaskus Monday night on Rook Green text, he also put in green that you VERBALLY ABUSED HIM via PM vox. Good thing you are calling yourself "pondscum". The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.
You wouldn't know good judgment if it fell on you.

I hate when I am working a town and some N00000v decides to take off and the enemy base starts to flash.
