Please consider allowing the ability to port Vox to a separate channel / sound card.
I have 3 possible sound sources on my PC (internal - disabled, my Razer AC-1, and a DSP USB Headset), and would very much rather to hear VOX through my headset, and the engines from my speakers. This is something I guess I'm fairly spoiled with when using Teamspeak for some other games.
Thanks.

Can you actually use all 3, or even 2 of those at the same time? I always thought you could have only 1 sound device enabled at a time or else risk computer conflicts.
-
I'm using two. One is my mic (Headset), the other is my speakers. No conflict.
What you're probably thinking of is an IRQ conflict when two sound cards have the same IRQ request number. They will cause an internal system conflict.
Yes! I'm all for the ability to choose where the sound comes from, and where the sound goes to.

Same here, and yes good idea! :aok

Same here, i have a headset, like a, bluetooth or handsfree, and im tired of hearing my roaring engines through it and not what i wanted to hear, other people. but would you need two soundcards or is it possible with only one?

option for vox on headset and everything else on speakers?
great idea, +1 for this :aok
(or at least a separate volume control for radio)

Not sure how it work, but I don't care, I like it. +1 :D
I normally use my 2.1 for music and Headset for game, but it would be nice to have the sounds on the speakers instead. A P38 rumbling by on the Sub-woofer sounds great with volume up. :aok

No, you won't need more than one sound-card. My headset is a USB set. It is recognized by TS, Ventrillo, Windows Sound configuration, and other multitudes of programs that allow me to select which input/output device to use.

Uhm, from what I understand you have a 2.1 setup and you have headphones plugged into it? This would mean that your speakers don't play audio, instead your headphones play audio until you unplug them. That wouldn't work with what we're asking for. What we're saying we have is a setup similar to this:
1 USB Headset (Microphone and speakers)
1 Sound system in the form of two speakers or more
And we want to be able to choose that our speakers play back audio of a certain type, while our headset plays back a completely different form of audio.
Your setup (as I gather) is one sound system with two speakers or more with headphones attached to the speaker-system. This setup can't be altered because the headphones attached to your speakers are still detected as just... speakers.

Denholm I use a a Logitech 2.1 Speaker set 3.5mm for Music; while my Logitech USB Headset runs the game sounds.
I have not used a Headset with 3.5mm jack in over 5 months due to my jack has been broken for quite some time.
The Speakers *DO* have a headphone jack but I do not use it.

Okay, that's what I was trying to determine. Yes, you fall under the same category as the rest of us. We have two sound playback/recording devices which we would like to configure so that one of the two devices plays back a certain portion of audio, while the other plays back a completely different portion of audio from the game.

Just as an FYI, if you have a USB headset, you DO technically have a 2nd sound card.
USB headsets generally use what's called a DSP chip. That is your 2nd sound card.
Thanks for the support. Hopefully we can get this implemented as it's really tough to sometimes hear people speaking, but if I turn my sound up the engines drown everything out until someone speaks. This would be a great help eliminating that.

Look closer at your in-game voice settings.
