No, because they're making money off it (Google ads).
-

Contestant: "Alex, I'll taking Epic Irony for $400, please."
Trebek "And the answer is: This particular epic irony is often perpetuated by those who sound like pet toys being squeezed when they speak"
Contestant: "What is... misspelling dumb when calling something dumb on an internet bulletin board?"
Trebek "Correct"

this is just weak dude

Pathetic! Bush is by far not my favorite president but he does deserve some dignity.

oh come on man love him or hate him it was just an absurd incident, it was just silly and this game just points out how absurd and silly it was
and i give bush credit for handling it very well and joking after it happened
-
He handled it a lot better than Norway in WWII.
-
My God, Norway rolled over like an Apple Turnover in WWII.
-
got to defend my country in two threads now, shame they didn't teach you kids any history in school
-
I can't break 19... :frown:

Florida held up fine, and it's a state by the way not a country. Now who's lacking in schooling? Your hijack attempt aside, at least this Masherbrum agrees with me.
I'm saying Bush didn't just up and surrender at the first sign of danger. I'll spell it out using a metaphor: The flying shoes were the Germans in World War 2, the wall behind Bush was Norway and Bush is like Britain.
Britain ducked and weaved, came back up ready for more German shoes, Norway just laid down and the royal family signed the surrender papers and abdicated.
How much clearer can it be?
And trigger, what does that have to do with Norway's surrender in the second world war? This thread is getting confusing fast.
-
yes i live in florida now, very good observation, I'm not hijacking this thread further, just go learn about that part of the war and you'd see your reference doesnt apply

I wasn't so much discrediting you as I was the site. As far as I am concerned you were just the messenger. Who through out history has not fared so well.

Norway bowed down and kissed the German's feet, it was straight surrender. What more can I offer you than the fact that you were really just Frenchmen with Aryan features. Maybe that's why they were cool with you guys.
-
No "technicalities", they surrendered. Not only that the Royal Family said "We're safe, you're not!" They shouldn't have been allowed back in after WWII.

no point arguing with ignorance

no point arguing with ignorance
stupid is as stupid does CAV. they show their utter ignorance with every press of the keys and making any attempt to correct or fill in their obviously lacking and damaged knowledge on the subject would be a complete waste of your time and effort CAV.
some people are not worth the effort, they im afraid are amongst those people.
for those who may be interested in actual history here is a good sight for research http://www.nuav.net/ndWW2.html (http://www.nuav.net/ndWW2.html). go to the time line page and look through it, tons of information for those who would like to know what happened in Norway during the war.

Interesting link Flotsom. Thanks for posting, there's a lot of good info there if you dig around.
I found this quote under the 1941 section:
7. June
*The King, government and allied forces leaves Norway.
http://www.nuav.net/1940.html (http://www.nuav.net/1940.html)
I used the word surrender incorrectly it appears. I should have said that all ruling parties, governing bodies and resistance to foreign invaders capitulated and fled the country. I was just trying to not be so wordy.

what you also manage to leave out is that they fought for 3 plus month before the country surrendered. they put up the best fight they could given the tactical and technical disadvantages they suffered.
what is your nationality that you think you have some superiority over others? i would really love to have you defend your nationality to me, i am half French and half German so i will gladly argue either side of the coin.
or any other time through out history.
tell me what you are and i will happily go back through time to show you your own historical short comings.
but when you argue back be sure to get your facts correct.
thousands of Norwegians died fighting an army that no army in the world stood a chance against. they held them off as long as they could. think you or yours couldhave done better?
doubt it, doubt it very much!

You seem to be very upset in your post. For that I am sorry, it wasn't my intention. I was just discussing the issue. Perhaps my earlier post was a bit inflammatory, about the bowing down thing- it was late and I was 'tired' and posted rather cynically.
Back to the lutefisk and potatoes of our discussion:
I have not stated that I felt my ancestry, 1/2 German, the rest Scots-Irish, was superior to any other. I just told you that it was a good link and pointed out that they did in fact abdicate and flee. To those who fought and those who died I have the deepest respect and wouldn't sully their legacy and duty by assuming I could have done any better or disparaging their efforts.
That said, I will not deny historical fact either.
