Title: Winter Wonderland?!
Post by: Spikes on December 19, 2008, 04:47:55 PM
Got at least 10" of snow here in a past few hours. Almost got me Polaris 700 stuck trying to plow!

Been getting hit fairly hard here as well today, probably about 4-6" in the valley and I would guess a couple of feet up at the ski resorts.   I'm still hopeful I will get to play some golf next weekend! (Denial).  I know I will be golfing the day after Christmas I just know it!

That's the stuff we had last week. Now another 10" is predicted for tomorrow and that's heading your way too.

If it isn't too nasty out, I'm gonna get some pics and post 'em in the morning. As much as I hate snow, it is pretty when its still clean.

We were supposed to get up to 10" here in Syracuse, but we only got about 6",  maybe 7.  It is hard to tell with the blowing wind.

I can think of no better time to Golf then in the snow. Solid ice would be even better.
Now THAT might actually get me to tune in and watch this activity on TV for the sheer humorous value.

Ok I'm starting to get PISSED OFF.   I want snow damnit!  I live in Pittsburgh and can remember when I was young AT LEAST ONE 12" snowfall a year.  Now we are lucky to get a coating on the ground.  All we get is a coating now, enough to ice the roads up and screw up traffic bigtime but no real snow.  When we do get some snow, the local politicians raise taxes for 'salt relief'.  Every year they keep the tax tacked on.
bastards.

Give me snow !

Sin- grab a dump truck or ten and get up here, you can take all you want. The snow piles at the local Wal-Mart are already about twenty feet high, and its not even Christmas yet.  :cry

Crazy part is, it wasn't even lake effect here. Normal, small flakes.

I did get my Polaris 500 stuck plowing snow.....twice. Had to dig it out. Never had to do that before. :(

Yeah, backed out of my garage and the runner for the plow takes clearance off the bottom, thus getting me stuck fairly easily. Once I got out I was buzzin around making a few swipes here and there. I've got a pretty huge driveway, so we have a Boss V-plow on my dad's truck, and the 4 wheeler plow just to clean up the corners and things.
