Forgive me if this is already available and I just don't know about it...
But it would be awesome and helpful, if a squad or anyone on a certain vox channel had access to a squad "Flightplan".
It'd be great for planning out routes in FSO's and even just for flying in the Main Arenas.
I know there's a mission editor, but I don't think the flight path stays current on the clipboard etc. Something you can just mark up, and then allow users on that vox channel to view etc. Be great for planning out stuff and having a reference to it in flight during the flight.

That'd be nice. Something to show what's going to happen, be able to write notes at the bottom (type)?
-
I like that idea. :aok

+1
think it would make communication a little better

I've wanted something like that for years. I don't really do the whole base capture thingy any more but was just thinking about it in FSO on Friday. The ability to set waypoints of some sort would be very nice.

Good idea maybe a pull down flight ops or something
-
I'm not a programmer, but it doesn't seem like it'd be terribly difficult to do.
Just thought it'd help communication.

I like the idea.

I like the idea too and I'm not a 'W1N Z3 W@R!!!111' kind of guy.
It would give scenarios a nice boost, I wouldn't have to print up orders before the frame and create a make-shift kneeboard.

Actually the addition of some sort of notepad function like a kneeboard would be really really nice for scenarios and FSO's as well as the waypoint thing with the map.

Awesome, I've thought about this, but never posted. Good Idea :aok

Very nice idea, +1.
Also, in the main 'Squads' menu in the O'Club, it would be good to have an associated option to give a squaddie permission to set/edit the flight plan.

:aok
I agree

Still like this idea and would love to see it implemented!
I know the HTC crew are busy, but this would be an outstanding asset in planning!
I think it'd be best if everyone on a certain vox channel could view it, that way squads with multiple squad sections all tuned to the same Vox frequency could see it.
But make it a requirement to be on the Vox channel, not just tuned to the Vox text.

The offline mission editor provides this function. When you run a mission offline, and pull up the clipboard map, the mission route is laid out on the map. There's even a marker to show where on the route you should be based on the mission clock. So it certainly can be done, but the mission designer would have to provide the mission plan before it could work. The only tool we have to build a mission plan is the offline mission editor.

This is an excellent idea. In addition, I would like to see...
Flight 1 (color on map shows is xx) ----> (specific plane)
(specific ordinance loadout)
Flight 2 (color on map shows is xx) ----> (specific plane)
(specific ordinance loadout)
etc. etc...
What do you guys think?

+1 many times our squad had to make detours due to dar getting back up, but we had to explain our route over the radio. And I like the note idea. say "keep out of dar" or "fly in groups of 3 flights through here"

We had all that with the old mission planner. HTC chose to replace that mission planner tool with the one we now have. When the change was made I questioned HT and his reply was “the old mission planner will never come back”. It was a far better tool you could stager take off times and have different routes for each flight. You could also have each flight take off from a different airfield. It was a much better tool for planning out missions.

Kind of goes along the same line as what I'd like to see. http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,273557.0.html
...and I just replied to a 12-08 thread. :huh
