Good question! I'd like to know too.

the .wind command
something like .wind (compass heading) (speed) (vert)
you can also set wind layers that way. When you screw up, the error messages help you out.

Here's what you do:
.wind alt heading speed rise-speed
An example:
.wind 7000 180 10 5
This creates a wind layer from 7,000 feet to 30,000 feet, blowing South at 10mph, with a 5mph rise. Fairly simple actually. You can play around with it offline, by blowing up a fuel bunker. Watch the smoke direction from a fixed position, and change the settings as necessary. Note that you don't need to give a rise speed if you don't want one. Simply leave out that variable and it'll still work. I created a wind layer from 0-8,000 feet that had a 120mph rise. Had my B-17 at 8k in under a minute, and when I trimmed level, the nose was pointing down at 35º!!! Kinda fun actually.
Note: Wind in the arena is currently blowing South from sea level to 10k, at around 8mph.

Thanks Dinger/Flakbait, i've been curious to test it out offline/H2H to see what diff/interesting wind effects i could do (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
(and to try out that hard ceiling at 15k and see what happens (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) )
