Saitek are an amazing outfit, in New Zealand that is. I E-mailed the saitek representative company here and asked them if they could tell me where I could purchase an X52 stick only. told them about my broken one how it had broken and all. After I sent this I decided to call as they are just up the road from me. The answer I got from that was they come in as a bundle package and I would have to purchase the whole set up.
That afternoon I got a reply from my E-mail asking which X52 I was after and if I required the throttle. I had left the workshop for the day got this in the morning. I replied with my requirements. I then received another which asked for my postal address to this I told them the area I lived. end of the day came again and when I came in this morning there was an E-mail stating that they had one and they could courier it to me or I could collect. Nice I thought, but how much. The reply was no charge. so at 9-30 this morning I picked up a brand new X52 stick.
It had been returned due to a faulty throttle control.
So Saitek, No1 choice for me from now
Sorry for the long winded blah blah but I thought that it deserved some props'

Sounds great that they took care of you. How does their product work out?

I went from a logitec extreme 3D pro to the X52 and other than my stupidity the product works great. Some say CH is better and probably is, but with how I was treated, you just can't beat good customer service. I haven't tried the new stick yet.....but not long now. and it can only be better than the old one because it is not as floppy, or broken.

I have the older X45. Been using this one for 4 years straight now with no problems. The only thing about the 45 that bugs me is the slip ring at the base of the stick. After awhile it'll start sticking, making the control movements jerky. I've found though, that Chap Stick works really well at lubricating the slip ring. When it starts sticking, run some Chap Stick around the base and she works good as new.
Seeing as that's the only thing I've ever had to do with this stick, I've yet felt the need to upgrade to anything else.
They make a good product :aok

I had a 2 year old Saitek X-52 and the dust ring that sits below the spring and washer snagged and crumpled. I had to dig the remains of the dust ring out with a pair of pliers. After that it would not hold center.
I e-mailed Saitek, explained what happened and they told me to send it in even tho it was out of warranty. They refurbished the stick and it worked like new.
My bottom line opinion of Saitek... about 2 notches above Logicrap with mediocre construction. But they have first rate customer service that takes care of any problems.
