Title: X-Men: Wolverine Movie
Post by: Swager on December 24, 2008, 10:13:14 AM
The new Wolverine movie preview looks good.

Looks like ole Hugh Jackman buffed up a little more for it.

Have Harry Connick Jr. play him. He's got the accent for it.

Everyone that's a fan of the X series has been clammering for Gambit, which I support.  Gambit, with Wolverine, and Cable, are the coolest X characters.

I'm just wondering how Gambit will fit in the Wolverine movie, considering they didn't meet until Uncanny X-Men #265 IIRC.  I could go for a full length movie of Wolvie fighting Hulk and Sabretooth.

Any word on the Wolverine vs. Hulk animated movie?

Nope, I seriously don't know which one was Gambit, or what his special abilities are.

We were all yelling at the screen when he never showed up in X-Men III. Favorite by far. Still have his mini-series comic. I think its the only comic I actually still have, but then I never had very many. X-Men was the only CB I ever got into.

Oh, and-

Yeah I'm with you on that Trieze69. Could have done away with some of the second tier charecters in order to develop him into the story. :aok

He could have been included in the third movie since Cyclops and Xavier died, and relatively early.  I'm glad they included Multiple Man though, he's top notch.

Main thing that ticked me off in the movies was the Rogue/Iceman relationship. Shes Gambits girl, dangit!

Yeah, I felt the same way.  Plus, Iceman was cool in 1963, not 2000+.  I'm guessing that's why they didn't portray Iceman as much, same goes for Angel.  Now if they wanted to include Archangel, I'd be pleased.

If you look back, the original X-Men circa 1963 were a bunch of lame characters.  I remember a few people on another message board complaining that the movies didn't follow the comics.  The movie wouldn't have been a success, besides older fans, and the nostalgia factor.

Wow.  I didn't realize that Deadpool was going to be in the movie as well, this is looking to be a must see movie.

If you want to get technical thought Xavier didn't die in X-Men 3.

I take it you never watched X3 all the way through, next time you watch it watch past the credits, you'll see what I'm talking about, Xavier is still alive.  I'll see if I can find it online & post it.

Can't say that I watched past the credits, once they start rolling I exit the building in a timely fashioned manner.

*EDIT - Didn't they do that to include Onslaught?*

I left before the credits rolled. Was very disappointed in part 3.

If you remember when he was teaching the class and talked about that guy who's mind was gone, but his body still worked, I think he transferred into his body.

Also you might not know, but the women he's talking to is Moira MacTaggert, who first appeared in "Uncanny X-Men".

I have never seen that before (the X3 ending).

neat!

(edit: "she appears again for a brief scene, where it appears that Xavier has transferred his mind into the body of the patient, following his physical body being disintegrated by the Phoenix persona that inhabits Jean Grey. In the director's commentary for the movie's DVD, it is revealed that this patient is, in fact, the identical twin of Charles Xavier, whose mind had been destroyed before birth by the power of Charles' mutation. Thus it is that Charles' voice is used and Moira instantly recognizes him.")

hmmmm..
