I went to useful links and click on the gunsight link and it said 404 not found. I don't know if the sites down for construction or something or that it changed names. Anyone got a link to a gunsights website. :aok

open the default sight in GIMP and do some erasing :D

Why not make a sight with the distance your rounds from the gun you most commonly use at certain distances when the conversion is set to a certain distance? Take the guesswork out of estimating your shots.

I think it would be more like this ... if your convergence was set as say 400 ...
-400 (center pipper)
-600
-800
or
-0 (remembering that your convergence is 400)
-200
-400
As distance is increased from your convergence setting, you have to pull your nose UP to compensate for bullet drop. Bullet drop distances then would have to take into consideration the gun package you are using ... too much trouble to make all those sights for the many varying guns packages available on the planes.
I fly with the Dot 'O Death gunsight ... adding more stuff to the HUD only clogs up my view ... I'd rather guesstimate.

I used to fly with no gunsight at all. And I actually did pretty good. The only planes I used a gunsight with were the F4Us.

Honestly, it probably isn't that bad of a gunsight, just make sure the enemy plane is in the middle of that and you'll eventually hit it :D
-
Yeah True I'd use it ;-)
