Post by: Delirium on December 31, 2008, 02:57:20 AM
I know many of you are looking for USB hubs, here is one of the best and less than half price with free shipping. Better yet, Belkin doesn't even have them in stock anymore...

Belkin F5U706 Hub  7 USB ports and it is powered.

http://www.newegg.com/Special/ShellShocker.aspx

Well worth the price, I bought one myself.

Normal price (with shipping) $58.24-

Today's price $18.99 (a savings of $39.25)

That is a deal.  <3 the Shell Shockers some days.  I bought my Philips 4 port powered hub for $6 on Clearance at a discount department store here.  I laughed when I saw the original price tag of $35.

You can get them at Best Buy for $50. I just bought one of the 7-port hubs 2 weeks ago.

Now, if I could figure out why it decided to all of a sudden die and dump all my devices off when I was in the middle of flying...

Yep, they sold out and don't tell me that indy.  I just bought the 7 port one for $29.99 on newegg since I need it with the new stick and all I just got.  Uh oh, we might have to return it.

Initial setup was a pain. It didn't want to recognize any devices until I went to the Belkin page, tracked down the manual, and plugged everything in the specific order it said to.

It only fell off in F4 once so far in 2 weeks of play. If it does it again, I'll start to get annoyed. Probably just a freak issue though.

indy it sounds like your hub may have issues. I have one I bought several months ago and all I had to do was hook it up I've had no issues with it at all.

You might want to check power settings as well, it may be disabling the USB ports to save power or not powering them up after being in standby mode.
