Title: HD cards and AH2
Post by: Sifudeer on December 31, 2008, 05:38:35 PM
I heard somewhere there is a special package I need to download to take advantage of High Definition and better image quality.  Can someone please point me in the direction?

Thanks,  Sifu

Go to AH home page and Click on downloads. You will see it on the left.

I believe you are looking for the High Res Skin Pack.  Install this file and make sure you go into the Game Settings (Main Menu, not in the arena) and change the Texture Size to 1024.  Also turning on AA on will give you a nice clean line (4x-8x is usually good).**

**You'll need a pretty good system with a good video card as AA really ups the memory load IIRC.

Thanks guys... I'm downloading the file now.  Ive got a Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0Ghz with 8 gigs of ram and 2 nvidia 4850's on a cross fire.  Its a great system from www.doghousesystems.com check it out. :)

Thanks again and <S>

You can run whatever setting you want then.  Max it out.

FYI...ATI makes the 4850's

Just a thought... Are you preloading skins?  That would be a No-No, as you don't have near enough memory to preload skins.  I don't know how much memory it takes now but I doubt any systems used to play the game are capable of preloading them all.

All the Best...
