OK, I took the time to search and the last time a something was posted about this topic was back in Sept. Just thought I was renew the idea of having a repair pad/hanger so these that are fortunate enough to make it back to base and don't want to land just yet but have damage to their aircraft. With a repair pad/hanger, they could taxi to it and park the aircraft for lets say anywhere from 45 sec to 90 sec, depending on the type of damage to the aircraft, for their aircraft to be repaired. Comment and feedback welcome. :salute

I like the idea, but I too see the other side of the argument...
Most damage wasn't just pop it off and shove a new one on, most of the time it was take a week to get the damaged part off, order the new one, wait a month, get it, haul it out to the aircraft, then take a day getting it on... and sometimes it was past repair...
I think our .ef and get a brand new plane is more than enough.

I think he is talking about the times when the airfield is down (all the FH's are down) and he has a radiator leak. He wants to fix the radiator/fuel leak and rearm and get back into the fight. It didn’t happen that way in RL and is a bit gamey. But I could live with it, however, I’d want the re-arm/repair pad added to the strat target list so that it could be knocked out.
What I’d rather see is a change to the rearm pad so that when rearming an aircraft the pilot could change his load out.
In actuality aircraft didn’t spawn at the end of a runway fueled and ready to go. Aircraft were fueled in there line position then taxied to the arming pad to receive their Ord load out for the flights mission. That would be a bit much for this game, but we could change the rearm pad to allow a pilot to alter/select the aircraft’s fuel and ord loadout any time they roll onto the rearm pad.

Longer wait. Make it minuets. Put it in a hanger. Is the risk worth the reward?

i can only speak for myself, but i would often use this pad/hangar...because its posible and we get some real life/taxi trafic at ouer fields.

I've always liked the idea.
Just a thought, might be cool too to have a selectable feature where the game remembers damage to planes by skin between uses. If I bring back a 49th FG P-38G all shot up, next time I use it the holes will still be there-- unless I repair it in the repair hangar (or opt out of the feature). The other P-38G skins would be unaffected.
Would add some continuity to the game for those that like that kind of thing, and wouldn't have to affect those who don't like it...

if the hangers are down or supplies dissabled then this should not be available. (neither should the rearm pad refeul (to max) or re arm when fuel or ammo is out IMO)

How about a slight perk cost to go along with it?
A repair hangar is actually a fascinating idea.
AF are you PR or do you work base fire? Boy those pilots used to tell me they loved to see those lights flashing as they came in with an engine flaming.

Actually, I'm a firefighter with the U.S. Air Force so yeah, I'm trained for Aircraft Rescue Firefighter (ARFF) along with the normal firefighting duties that you see outside of the military.

I like that idea--put a re-arm in the hangar that can fix damage--(takes much extra time to GET inside hangar)---mebbe make that one 3 min or somethin as well
