My joystick is old and its Z axis seems to have a mind of its own. It is Wingman Extreme Digital 3D and I have tried to pull it apart but have failed to.
Is there anyway to allow me to ignore the Z axis, it prevents me from flying and gives me the "You are moving your controls too rapidly" error.

I believe you can remove it in the "map controllers" section of the notebook. I think if you highlight the Z axis, then assign it to "none" it will remove it.

Adjust the "deadband" for that axis to a higher amount and the game will ignore the spiking from it.
In the "Map Controllers" panel. select the "Z-Axis", then check the "Advanced" box. You will see the "deadband" slider in the panel that swings open from the clipboard. Just move it up until the desired effect is reached.
