Think of it like this, you'll have more than enough kills if you don't find him. Then... I'll swoop down and kill ya :D
-
Might give this a try in a P-51. Despite the numbers, I still can't seem to find a good fight on Tuesdays, maybe this will be fun.
-
Yay! I get to fly a pony for the mission :)
-
Yay! I get to fly with Bosco for the mission :)
(assuming I can get a P-51)

(don't mean this to sound negative towards the leaders)
But, I don't really think that it's up to them whether you fly what you want or not. I'm taking the Jug, as it's always a better plane at high alts. Last time I did one of Talen's MoMs, we were in 47D25s, and we pretty much whuped and outflew the 51Ds in air-to-air combat.
-
I never really got the hang of the P-47, aside from picking in it. I like the Mustang though- the B is my favorite, but the D works too. I just don't usually fly it because its like showing up to the prom in the same tux as every other guy in the room.
So I usually dress as an onion.
-
OOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! A copy of the Rook MoMs
-
This Mission will actually be better, I hope. It is well planed out, and im sure it will go smoothly.
Oh and if all the slots for the 51's get full, ill just expand it. No worries.
-
Just curious about the historical choice of having the 40th Bomb Group flying the B-17 in this event. Was it just a random choice?
The 40th (which included the 25th Bomb Squadron, my father's outfit) did fly the B-17 briefly over the Panama Canal Zone on sub-patrol operations. However, the 40th BG was best known for flying the the brand new B-29 over the Hump in the CBI and off Tinian in the Pacific theatre. To my knowledge, this was the only aircraft they flew in overseas theatres.
-
well the b29 isnt in the game and b17 are in the same type of air plane and made by the same manufacturer

Our 47's were out turning and out running the 51s at that alt IIRC. I never went under 300 at 25k+
-
c-ya tues. :salute jugs rule at 25+k :t
-
Yes its gonna be great. Just hope it wont be to laggy.
-
Edit: Hajo will be leading the 21st Fighter Group :D
-
It will be laggy, they usually are. Try a broad front of many groups w/ less planes in each.

SUMMARY
Our launch was good as it could get, some ogerd but mainly all of us took off.
We had launched 3 groups with 10 minutes between the bombers and fighters,
(all took off from diffrent bases, to avoid major lag) then form up and assemble
area to head to our targets. Some of our bombers took off early or discoed so
we had to let them catch up. And right off the bat we lost Airbase 31, our
assembly area. Not to good.
Once we got airborne and proceeded to targets Rook airfields, enemy dar were
located but was false due to Titanic Arena Glitches. Once at our designated alt
of 20k, we leveled out and headed for our targets, 109’s and Spits everywhere.
Both Fighter Groups engaged the enemy fighters clearing us a path, some
bombers didn’t make it.
Some midway intercepts consisted mostly of Me-262 fighters. Once located, we
move into the bomber escorts, the 21st FG and the 10th Fighter Wing who went
to work carving up the enemy force with great success.
While over our target we counted a group or more than 10 Enemy Me-262’s and
many fighters. And successfully shot down a majority of the. All along, the bombers
were pretty strung out and separated but we attempted to close up after the
second enemy field.
The main bomb group in the force was the 26th Bomb Wing under the command
of GREric. This group bore the brunt of the enemy's initial assaults and suffered
mid casualties, losing approximately 50% of its bombers. This Bomber Group
attacked the Airfields towns, The other bomb groups, the 41st Bomb Group faired
a bit better and tried to close as fast as they could to join the 21st Fighter Group
lead by Hajo group to offer defensiveassistance.
The two Fighter Wing in the force were the 21st Fighter Group lead by Hajo, and
the 15th Fighter Group lead by J0KER. Both of these Fighter Wings did a great job
protecting the bombers until the second targets. Many of our fighters were to
heavy, and had to drop there drop tanks to engage. Thus making them have to
RTB sooner.
We began our descent to 32 which was under heavy GV attack but our refueled
fighters were re-upping from there to join us and as a result, they busted up the
Rook attempt to take 32 with ease, securing the base for our safe recovery.
I had a great time although I was frustrated at the Rooks taking 31. Despite the
poor start, and the bombers not forming up together. The mission was a success
and we annihilated all 3 targets.
Thank you all! Let me thank everyone, both friend and foe alike, for battling it out
in this Mission of the Month event! I want to especially thank all the Bishop pilots
who
participated and helped us out. It was great and I plan on making better MoM’s for
the Bishop. It was our first one and it went well. We have learned still more lessons
from this battle and I believe that next time, we will do even better!
Thanks again for participating!

We still got 32 lol. I do want to <S> ya'll myself and a few squaddies went up to intercept ya'll and there was no way in hell that we were getting through to the bombers. I think maybe two squaddies got through not really sure <S> and good job. I only wish we had more rooks that intercepted ya'll so we could have had a better fight.
-
Hard not to enjoy yourself in missions like these. Looking forward to the next!

I would imaging that 262 pilot was wounded lol nice SS.

Bummer, sorry I missed it Eric.
But then again, I wopuld probably have been
one of those 262's you shot down so maybe
I was just lucky to be AWOL!
Great job! :salute

I really enjoyed intercepting last night. I was in a P51 and somehow I stumbled on an isolated flight of B17s, killing two of them. I then survived flying through the main formation of buffs and escorts at high speed but no escorts followed me down to 13K so I was able to egress. I climbed out and returned to 31 and caught three p47s trying to climb up over the large mountains to the north. I then chased the main group north only to collide with another P47 and rip my left wing off.
Was great fun. <S>

Your guys' MoM mission looked pretty awesome. Thing was, you guys didnt manage to capture any of our Rook fields. Ya'll may have annihilated them, but us Rooks managed to at least retain possession of them. Good work Bishops! Keep up with the MoMs 96Delta! Lookin forward to flying with you guys soon! <S>

was fun :salute

don't think there was any intent on capture, just smash. I wasn't in the mission but they never mentioned capture.

<S> gameofd1 that was a fun fight......
Me and m109262 and Stukka87 were alone on the deck in out 51D's we were RTB and we came into contact over an enemy base (Fighter hangers must have popped) So we start fighting them and me109262 get a PW i get my oil hit but were 50 miles away form our nearest bae i decide to hold them off while Stukka RTB's he wont have it. My spray and pray tactic work on 3 planes but on the 4th (gomeofd1) i jsut start roping them for Stukka while he gets them. So i go dead stick and try to ditch but there is gameofd1's Leaking P39G and he gets me as sonn as i touch down.
<<S>> Man t was fun
