how about we have the PBY and other rescue/search planes put in the game. It would be like this a person would take a PBY or C47 with no cargo or troops or M3 no troops and they would land near a downed pilot and pick up the pilot up to a max of 5 and then they would RTB if they make it they will get half of the perk points of the people they saved had accumulated in that sortie. I think that would give enough insintive to fly them even deep behind enmy lines to get a high perk point pilot like a 6 kill sortie in a 202 pilot would be the first person everyone would go for and it would give the pilot who got shot down a rescued sortie. But its just a rough ideah.

Sounds like there is a lot of potential there, I like it!
Could also be good for scenarios where folk only get one life.
Would also be sweet to kill the rescue planes :)

It's a nice idea, and it has tremendous potential in scenarios and events, but I can see two huge pitfalls for MA use:
1) Why is the pilot just bobbing around instead of just clicking "tower"? You've introduced a penalty for dieing somewhere in this.....and that's never worked in an MA enviorment yet...
2) Pick me! No! Pick me! YOU HAVE TO TAKE ME NOW! heCAn wate, tEY Ned ME at A34 NOW
is the other......

sounds good...but what would happen if the downed pilot has no perk points?
i know sometimes i go up and get shot down by a phatom pilot.
also what seeker said. If i fly 10 minutes into enemy terr and get shot down. im not going to wait another 10 minutes for a C47 to reach me just so i can get those points.
I would rather click tower and go up on another shorty.

its all just a rough ideah I am open to suggestions and such it would be like early war planes in the MA they would be rare and would more than likely not used much, but in a scenario it would be invaluble in the final scoring of the missions and I am not sure what to do about pilots who have no perks that sortie but if U have ideahs please post them I am sure someone would look at it and maybe concider it then maybe we the gamers would have helped make another "first" in the online flight sim world. Well I am still listing so please feel free to post.

Great idea, Hodo.
PBYs, Lysanders, Kingfishers, M3s, Fiessler Storchs... Many possibilities.
Especially for scenarios. :)

I'm all for it if someone *else* wants to fly around picking up my sorry butt. I'm here to fly fighters though, hope that is cool with you all.

i've heard from falcon that he got an email from htc about c47s haveing the ability to pick up downed pilots

This may be a bit far fetched, but the problem I see with that is that the majority of rescue planes are REALLY slow mothers, very easy pickings for the always-on-the-deck MA fights.
How about using the same system as the GV resupply? A plane paradrops a box, which the downed pilot has to bump into to "teleport" back to the nearest friendly base and .ef there (thus, "landing successfully")?
Now here comes the OTHER problem. The slow bellybutton rescue planes.
What about giving the Arado a "rescue" ordenance loadout, making the arado a FREE plane to fly when it uses that loadout?
Then you'd see arados flying at low level real fast dropping the rescue packages for others. Them arado pilots would get 10 perks per pilot they rescue. SYSTEM: PLAYERX has been Rescued by PlayerY
Sure, Id love to see the PBY's and Storchs, but face it, in the MA, they will be murdered before they get to the pilot...and many players will simply NOT wait the 5-15 minutes it will take those planes to fly from the airfield to their location (and FINDING them too!).
Perhaps, use the arado with rescue package idea AND make it so that only pilots that RETURN HOME alive get perkies for their mission? (That is, if you get shot down in friendly territory and bail out and .ef, you'd get half the perks, if you bail out and .ef in enemy territory, you get no perks. If you bail out anywhere and get rescued, you'd get full perks. Returning to base with your plane should give the existing perk bonus multiplier).
Edited: Just thought that the Arado IS the perfect plane for this. Its all-glass nose will give the Rescue pilots the best visibility for SAR missions.

unfortantly theAR234 never had a rescue role it was used to late in the war for that model to see any great use, but the idea about the "teleport" boxes I think that would be just as work able, or they have to touch the plane better yet. but it would be more a CT, SEA plane not much of a MA plane.

guys its already been asked for..chk previous stuff.
still cant hurt to see new guys wanting the same thing

Yes kingonads, but the issue will always remain: Rescue planes = death in MA.
Just look at how many people dive from 15k to get a 2k, smoking, gliding C202.. now imagine them seeing an unarmed, 200mph avg MAX speed rescue plane.
I think the arado is the best choice. It fast, has great visibility and I wouldnt mind seeing more of them in the MA. Specially if they not carrying bombs :)

No different to using the C47 atm...
Make it worth say 5-10 bomber perks per rescued pilot, up to a max of 5 pilots. People would do it to be able to afford the Ar234 (and other perk bombers) sooner...
I used to love the mission in the Korean campaign of "Chuck Yeager's Air Combat" where you had to protect the L5 bird dog from Chinese fighters as it picked up a downed pilot.
It would place more emphasis on team work as I'm sure players (squads especially) would love to be able to pick up their buddies who had been shot down and earn some perkies. I would also love to be transported back to base after getting a few kills and then getting shot down if the perk multiplier was raised for a "rescued" sortie.
Though the furball addicts don't like teamwork and having to wait to get back into the fight. ;)

Man what a lot of sweet targets. Yes please introduce a reason for chutes to hang around longer.
-
How many perks would you get for killing 5 chutes before they could be rescued?
Would killing a chute in the air be worth more perks than strafing a pilot after he's landed and dropped the chute harness?
Lots of possibilities here!

Yup. Make it so that if you shoot down a rescue plane that has pax they all hit the silk too. Imagine that, 6 chutes for the price of one... mmmmmmm.
