So that's where my stash went... :D
Duuuuuude! The world's oldest stash of marijuana has been found in far western China, according to an article in the Journal of Experimental Botany.

In unrelated news, scientists have traced the origins of the Twinkie back to the same place.

In seriousness, they've found cocoa in ancient Egyptian mummy wrappings. Which wasn't found anywhere outside South America at the time.
Interesting implications there, don't you think?
-
Yup. Ancient Egypt was once a Caribbean paradise, not a desert in Africa.
Wait...
-
The writing style of that article suggests that its fake. Or at least they allow someone to worse poor journalism in their website articles. Well, to think about it, its not partically poor, they're probably trying to garner a higher bandwith with catchy slang for the users of the illegal substances.
~EDIT: A quick Google, and Yahoo search apparently confirms its validity.

Just want to make sure you're reading the RIGHT implication.

If the tomb occupant had shared his stash instead of hoarding it, we might have had a few less wars?
Ghengis Khan - Fight? Nah, pig roast!
Xerxes - Sparta? Nah, they can't grow what I got!
Alexander - More baklava please!
:D :D :D

It has been speculated that Chinese reached the west coast of South America long before the east coast was discovered by westerners.

Marijuana has been found in many archaeological sites in many cultures.
It's uses have ranged from shamanistic to therapeutic inclusive of some evidence of recreational.
I'm really not at all surprised by it's appearance in some burials.

Yeah thats what they all say. But they all really just wanted to get high.
Which is cool. Strictly between their Shaman and them.
Isn't there evidence of ancient orgiastic enhancement use of Marijuana? I heard of a sight where they also unearthed LP records and players, bell bottom jeans, and entire ancient head shops. :uhoh

I can say that no, it doesnt. My uncle served in Thailand during the Vietnam War, back in the early 80's we found his stash of weed he had brought back with him about 15 years earlier..... Nothin..... Just nothin....

No.

Actually, if you keep it hydrated and in the fridge or freezer, it won't go "bad" for a while... :D :devil

The freezer trick is where I learned the best way to keep my cigars at work. They're good for weeks out of a humidor if you keep them tightly wrapped in the freezer, and half-smoked ones don't go stale either if you have to snip them.
And I owe it all to my pothead friends. :aok

You can keep it from going "bad" as such but it doesn't get better over time. :aok

It is a joke. Any plant will not get better as it get older. Unless you are a tree like cedar, oak, walnut ect that used for wood.

Scary thing is, they could have found a twinkie with the stash and it would be exactly like one you pull out of a package today :D Those things NEVER go bad.

More incredible than grass in a tomb is the discovery of Inca skeletons in Norway, 1000 years old.
-
Well, they had to go SOMEWHERE to surrender...
-
Yup, Americans surrendering :D
Anyway, seriously, I did up a thread on this. After that there has been new data suggesting that the American culture is older than thought (Or cultures actually going extinct) as well as the Vikings may have ventured even further than thought. They did go quite far, with ease, and on regular basis.
Brothers from my community were armed with gear from the Huns about 1000 years ago, and one of them became a "Vaering", working for the emperor in Constantinopel.
And about that time, one woman ventured from Iceland to America where she bore a child, then back home after some years, and later in life down to Rome and back to Norway.
The Norse were the ultra sailors of the time, and today they still make quite an impression.
