saitek has come out with a new drivers and a NEW SST programming system(if you use it)...
The link to what I have done recently is here..
http://www.saitekusa.com/supp/saitekUninstall.htm
This link leads you to where you can TOTALLY uninstall your saitek EVERYTHING from the system, took me less than an hour to do..
I then went and downloaded the NEWEST drivers and SST programming system from the same link, just click on downloads and find your stick..
Something to consider before Downloading the NEW drivers..They will NOT work with anything you have programmed under the old SST program, they will be in a new .PRO format and you will have to TOTALLY re-do all your SST settings for in-game as their is no way to move it over to the new .PRO format.
I have just finished installing all this new stuff on my old x52 and I have to say it seems ok..My original problem was the stick uncalibrating at odd times..I will know more as I fly more to know if it has worked permanently, but will let you know if it does it again..
If you dont use the SST programming and you have problems with your stick uncalibrating, then you have nothing to lose by just updating the drivers..But I would recommend the above link saitek uninstall from your comp..
Anyway, hope this helps some of you..

Thanks for the notice. I'm not going to get the new drivers, though. My X-52 has never given me trouble, and I don't want this driver update to mess that up.
If it's not broke, don't fix it. ;)
-
i tryed this and played for around 2 hours earlier and i didnt have any problems at all, it works a lor better for me.
thanks for the info falcon :aok

Agreed! Keep it simple stupid is what I always say.

I agree with KISS,this was for people with Prblems with there X52's..especially those who have the problem if it uncalibrating..

There is a program out there that is tiny and free and will make ANY stick (or almost) programable. You can find it here:http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie (http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie)
I have used it and it is a tiny little .exe that will run behind AHII with no loss in frames. It does require a certain amount of smarts to design a complex script but for simple stuff it's cake.
It does not need to be installed, it has no drivers to load. Just set up your script and run it. Very KISSable
-
Wellmy stick did uncalibrate in-game again.. :cry
-
OK now that i did that I can't re install the damn software or drivers :furious And I tried to do it by adding hardware and it says the X52 is ether corrupt or missing COde 39 :furious
EDIT: I downloaded for Windows 64 bit when mines 32 bit(It downloaded)

I just don't get it. There must be half @ dozen Saitek PROBLEM threads up and running. Why not just buy a CH stick and live the remainder of your lives trouble free?
-
give me the $$ and i'll feel free to aren't they over like 200$
-
Well,I will be playing in-game here in a bit to see how things go...

The Fighterstick will set you back $99. Granted, you'll probably spend another $200 on peds and a throttle, tho the Saitek X52 throttle will work with a CH stick just fine.
I've purchased at least 6 Saitek sticks over the years...cpl of Cyborgs, cpl of Evos, X-45, X-52...sooner or later they all wound up in the landfill, mainly due to calibration (lack of) issues. Like you, I didn't want to spend a few hundred bucks. Meanwhile I wasted at least $400 on Saitek sticks. All I can tell you is that CH gear is trouble free and lasts forever.

Please send check payable to all of us to replace our sticks! Btw 3 years X52 no problems heavy use.

I got it!! A Federal Saitek stick bail-out :aok
Call your Congressman and tell him, "Max sent ya." :D

Save your money. Put your spare change in a coffee can. Buy CH.
Some people in-game are using my old Ch gear that is 10 years old and going strong. I can name a few.
I'm not trying to do anything but help. I've been there with Logitech, saitek etc. I've been doing
MMOG flight simming for many years. There is nothing made as reliable as CH when it comes to game controllers.
I say this from experience. Sure...once in awhile someone will have a problem with anything. Ch has the best support
in the business. And what do I see posted more then anything in here about game controllers?
I see posts about game controller problems with everything but CH. X52 etc.
One would think about seeing as many posts with problems about saitek etc. one would shy away from blowing their
hard earned dollars on unreliable crap.
Save your change....purchase one piece of CH gear at a time. I prefer the Combat stick. It's cheaper then the fighterstick.
Next......I'd purchase the pedals and throttle. If you have those 3 controllers the only time you will touch the keyboard
would be to type in the text buffer.
It will save you money and aggravation in the long run.
My Ch is always calibrated. Actually I've never had one go bad! My Ch pro pedals are 11 years old and going strong!
The throttle is 8 years old....and the Ch Combatstick I'm using is 6.....and I gave the previous CH Combat stick to someone in game
and they are still using it! I gave a whole CH HOTAS analog mind you to a player (runs from gamecard) and he is still using it!
Wise up! Start saving your silver and copper. Relieve yourself of the aggravation and the need to replace that crap every 2 years.
Save yourself some money if you plan on playing the game for years to come. Get CH.

Wow, wouldn't the gamers just enjoy that. :P

+3 years on my X52 without a problem.
-
From what I understand a lot of problems occur with the X52 because of a brief loss of power to the USB. When this happens when the stick isn't dead center, it's calibration goes all screwy. A lot of times it's an issue with the power supply or USB hub.
If you guys haven't tried it already, give an external powered USB hub a try. Could fix your woes if the power supply or built-in hub is having issues.
Then again, who knows? Maybe some just get unlucky with their stick. I hope not to be one of those.
-
I've noticed that most people losing calibration is, as stated above, a power issue. Either they have the stick plugged directly into the computer or the powered hub they're using just isn't up to it either.
Also, though, have a look at the connecting wire between the two bases. After a couple years, mine was stripped and electrical-taped twice from scraping across my desk legs and one end was coming undone. If yours is going bad, either email Saitek directly (not MadCatz) and they'll send you one (since my email was in English they routed me to England...and they sent me one from all the way accross the pond :D) or buy a standard male-male DIN6 cable. That way you can get any length you want.
-
If it looses calibration, simply unplug the JOYSTICK FROM THE THROTTLE, then let it sit for a few seconds. Then, plug it back in, and JUST LET IT SIT FOR ABOUT 10-15 SECONDS - DO NOT TOUCH THE JOYSTICK IN THIS TIME, LEAVE IT CENTERED!!!
After that time, it will have finished its autocalibrating in Windows, and you'll be ready to go again.
If this keeps happening, you should get a POWERED USB hub.
Yossarian
P.S. Sorry for all the caps ;)
-
UPDATE,I installed an update from MS and no problems with it since... :aok
-
After 3 or 4 years I will buy new techology. 3 years everyday use X52 like brand new!

Yoss no offence meant but unpluuging the joystick isn't a fix. In the other X52 threads we've tried to suggest real and permanent fixes
-
yes,if you guys come in here to post about prblem with X-52's please see the other thread in technical support,we need to try and get these 2 into 1...I am moving the link in the OP to the saitek driver updates into the other thread..

I gave up on my X52. I didn't purchase it though, it was a hand-me down from a squad member (for good reasons I realize).
I'm gonna give the brand new Saitek Cyborg X a last go (it's pretty cheap). If that crocks up then I'll just ebay a CH one day.

Well over 3 years almost daily use, minimum 1 hour, weekend up to 6 or more :O
No problems. So, when Circuit City went under, I bought a spare set for half price :D
-
I agree with hajo, cant go wrong with ch. Its worth the money.
-
Its kinda funny. Most X52 users have no problems. One guy's X52 broke and he was mad so I asked him, "Are you tough on it?". He replied he beat it up pretty bad. Problems with X52 are mostly from abuse and system problems. Now careful guys, I said most not all. I beat mine up pretty good and 3 yrs + I think is a good recommendation.

I beat mine up like I was trying to club a baby seal. It didn't work in terms of improving it! Didn't damage it at all surprisingly. Now my sidewinder just snapped off :lol
-
ok mine got WAY WORSE.
-
what did you do tmac???
-
I went into advance and enabled X and Y axis and it got worse. And it was doing 360 turns. Its only the X axis.

So you went in and turned on scaled axis control? did you play with the sliders?
-
No I did that before and it just made me bad at turning it didnt help. Even when it isn't moving due to the bad calibration it still shows the numbers bouncing from 2500 to 3676

Hey Guys,
I am having problems with the two hat switches on the stick of the X-52. when I use them in the game,
the view sticks to the right. When I go to windows/gamecontrolers/propertys the hat switches are screwed up there also.
I tryed to uninstalling all drivers and did new drivers and it didn't help. Any advice? tryed to E-mail saitek with no response.

sounds like a stuck switch. Two thinks to try, blast it with a can of compressed air, might knock the crap out of it that is causing it to stick. Second thing is to blast it with a can of "contact/electronic cleaner. RadioShack use to carry it. Its a cleaning solution that doesn't conduct electricity and in a can is under pressure. Think of it like a can of WD40, it will get into all those little cracks and stuff to help clean it out DON"T USE WD 40 !!! Spray the cleaner, then work the sticky button for a minute or two, in and out over and over. Could clear it up.
If it still hangs up, you'll need to replace the switch.
-
Thanks Fugitive...I'll try it!! Need to get to radio shack anyway...will pick some up!
