Title: wingman training
Post by: drdeathx on January 09, 2009, 11:56:45 PM
Gentlemen,

Skpg and myself are going to start a wingman training/flying seminar. We will do a soft startup Tommorrow (Sat. Jan. 10th) at 8:00. Teamspeak2 voice communication is necessary because we will be giving links to webpages to discuss tactics and viewing 2 and 3 dimensional drawings. Teamspeak2 can be downloaded at http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads. We will be on Rooks vox 171 tommorrow. If your interested give a shout/reply in this post.

Thanks-- Death

No you can have multiple Server addresses in teampeak2 ours is www.rrexlive.com

Go to connections and you will get input screen. Right click on server and select add server then put IP addy. I have to register you all to move to aces high channel or manually move you. Come to vox 171 to let me know your in TS.

Eastern. I will be on vox 171 at 6:30. This is start up training. All welcome and even if we get just a few guys, we will spread the word and develop this method. Would like to get 20 serious guys and have"wingman" night or nights of the week. This is not a new squad so multiple squads are invited.

I will be on vox every night at 8:00. Want to get a group together to get wingman formations and tactics. This would entail spending a half hour or so going over published charts(2D and 3D drawings) on internet, small discussion and formation practice in DA. Maybe we can do this an evening or 2 and than take our knowledge to the MA and spend all evening flying together. remember, this is in its infancy stage and this is not a squad. It is for multiple pilots and/or squads to participate to fly like fighters are "supposed" to. The single con cherry pick vulching method is for video game players. Wingman methods are  for real pilots as far as I am concerned!

Looks like fun.

I'd like to help. I even have a wing man manual to go along with the course I taught for many years in Warbirds.

PM me if you are interested.

Dawger! Blacksheep website has basic drawings and tactics also. Looking for  a awesome pilot like you to assist. I am just trying to put the group together and us seasoned pilots can make a winning combo with the upcoming superstars.

Hi death,

Here (http://home.comcast.net/~micelihouston/films/Wingman Manual 475FG.pdf) is a link to my Element and Flight tactics manual I wrote starting many moons ago.

I haven't revised it in 4 years  (and it was written for warbirds) but it still all applies I think. I also have a 45 lesson training plan that covers everything in the manual right through a leading flights and larger formations.

Let me know if I can be of help. I'm sure I can dig up a 475th FG wingman willing to participate with me.

very nice manual, Dawger. wasn't you a WB Trainer at one time?  I think Gumbeau was one as well, IIRC

I am revising my web pages and that link was just temporary.

Here is a permanent one although I not sure which revision is up there.
