Still hoping for a--> "WHAT IF" scenario based on late war Russian/Japanese conflict, LAs, Yaks, IL2s vs Nikis, Kis, Bettys etc. would be a real HOOT I believe :devil

Anything is possible. I do think though that the "What If" situations might be better played out in a single scenario battle vs an FSO. I know they've has those before.

I'd still like to see the "Project Danny" scenario I floated a couple months ago. USMC Corsairs hitting V-1 launch rails in Europe. Historically canceled by a combination of George Marshall refusing to allow Marines in "his" war and the Allied invasion overtaking the launch sites, anyway. It would have involved VMF-511, 512, 513 and 514 taking off from carriers in the North Sea to strike V-1 launch sites along the English Channel (apparently the were all loaded up and ready to go when the plan was scrapped). Combine this with a few other ops so the Germans don't know exactly what the targets are (IE, give the Luftwaffe the assignment of "defend Sector X.X", and have each target area contain both V-1s and some other valid target like an airfield, with 3-4 V-1 sites in every target sector. Something like 6 targets altogether, four of which are F4U squadrons hitting V-1 sites).

i would like to see the US vs Russia continuation of WW2 , somewhat the way General Patton visioned it would be ;)

THIS has promise.
I think the Soviets would get their arse handed to them in the skies, both in AH2 and in the real thing. ;) All the combined might of the USAF, USN, RAF, FAA, Italy, what is left over of the German LW and the Me262/Ar234 wings, and all the heavy bombers, vs some La5/7, Yak's, P40's, P39's, IL-4 sustitues (B25?), a Tu-2 substitute, etc???
I dunno.. but the oadds would be stacked against the Soviets I do belive.

A lot would depend on how the war was fought. If the Allies continued to focus on the high-altitude strategic air war, then yes, the Red Air Force would be in deep trouble (I love running across La-7s above 15k). Things would be much more even in mid-to-low altitude, tho.

We'd need the La-9. :t

The 109s and 190s belong on the allied side. The Russians were highly disdainful of the 190 and had no need of surplus captured aircraft in 1945.

You could also include more 262's on both sides than we're used to as substitutes for British Meteors and Vampires, American Shooting Stars and possibly Russian MiG-9's and YAK-15's.
