Thought of a few that would be cool to implement....
* Whoosh of air as you bail out and free fall to earth
* Sound of ripcord and parachute being deployed
* Thunderous crunch/splat/"Ooooof" sound of not opening up the chute in time :)
* Thud of landing successfully in chute
* Background sounds on CV, saw a few WW2 clips on the Wings channel other night, things like "Clear the flight deck" or associated gargle
* Yelling "Clear the Prop" as the engines fire up...perhaps canopy closing sounds, etc....
Anyways, just some ideas....slow day here at work and was ICQing with a friend some things we thought would be cool to add.

Is it possible to have different external engine sounds for the different planes? Havn't looked into that yet.

So far as I can tell the external sounds use the same wav file that a given aircraft uses, but modify it for position and movement.
All the aircraft that I've heard fly by on my system sound different.
I don't like the first idea in this thread. Sonds like that get SO repetitive when they occur every time you start the engine or the like.

Bah.....not me...heck I still laugh my bellybutton off in Falcon 4 when you fly into another guys chute and hear that scream!

Hmm. I like the idea of external sounds, it would really add entertainment, and I'm all for it, but realistically, once inside the cockpit with the engine fired up, there was not a lot that could be heard outside.
