I probably shouldn't be posting this. I really don't need to encourage other players to be any better.
But...then again, I'm an generous guy at heart, so I guess I will. Most folks won't take the time to read it anyway.
I was searching the net for some T-45 cockpit photos, and I came across the Navy Training Command's Air Combat Maneuvering Manual for student naval aviators in the T-45 pipeline. I looked through it, and although the info is jet-specific, there are enough nuggets in there for it to be useful to prop-drivers like us as well.
Anyway, it's free, and alot shorter than Shaw! :rock

(I believe I read/heard that 1Duke1 was an F-14 driver, hence the thread title. Sorry if I got that wrong Duke <S>)

Ahhh crap I opened it but no sooner had I started reading than some navy guys bust in and arrested me :lol
Thats the last time I go on a site with no certificate!
Looks pretty good theres a lot of reading there might print it out thanks :rock

Just finished reading it.
Interesting but it is very specific to the airplane and training environment. Ignore all the speeds/AOA units references and the references to 500 feet and its good.
There are a couple errors. It needs an editor with an eye for detail.
Figure 35 is labeled two circle but its the one circle diagram. Don't let that confuse you. You will notice it looks just like figure 34 :) .

One of the biggest regrets in my whole life is choosing P-3s instead of E-2s coming out of primary flight school. No doubt flying Orions was more fun, but man alive is that community career-limiting...and no jet time.
I've been working on a mod for Falcon 4. We don't have T-45s in it (yet), but we have A-4s so I've been working on a training command mod with TA-4s vs. F-5 aggressors.
It's a very rough WIP:

So, I was looking for some info on the T-45 for my mod and came across that manual in my google search. Pretty cool, huh?
-
So...you want to fly and fight like 1Duke1?
Nope...thanks anyway
-
Great find man! Here's some more T-45 stuff I found.

What's your problem Kasanski?
What makes you feel the need to reply with something like that? Nice reply, Ace.

It was a question...I answered it...easy as that.
Lighten up francis :lol

1Duke1 is a big boy, I'm sure he isn't sweating RedTop too much.
After all, Duke does this kind of stuf for real, ya know?
