It began as a way for people to post in a thread they believed would soon be "locked" to show they were there.

Personally, I think half of the dweebs posting "IN" these days don't have a clue what it means. :rofl

Half? Think you're being overly optimistic on the intelligence level of the common dweeb, I'd put the average more around the 90% mark.
