Intel has cut (http://www.techreport.com/discussions.x/16254) prices pretty good, on many CPU's. Just a heads up.
-
Those are some huge cuts in some points on the CPU's. Might be time for the final upgrade on this system before building the new one this fall/winter. Don't forget boys and girls that it will take some time for those prices to make it into the system for suppliers like Newegg and Mwave.
-
Yep. It is just worth keeping an eyeball peeled. I may have to build another system, and upgrade my own as well.

Coincidence weeks after intro of AMD Phenom II? Same thing after every AMD intro. Intel gets high margins with better technology then drops prices for marketshare. Great plan!
Reschke you are correct. New Egg prices the same. Wonder how much the cuts will be?
Fulmar, last July was after last AMD Phenom intro and this Jan. was after recent Phenom II Intro.Coincidence?

Intel drops its prices in January and July. At least they have since 2006.

I'm waiting for the cut on the e8600.

That is a pretty decent dip on the Core 2 Quad Q9650 and it drops it into my price range here in a few weeks when the tax man returns a decent sum of dollars to me...thank goodness for mortgages and the refund on taxes paid in them.

Great news for the end user. Intel tryin to put a hurt on AMD! Wait till socket AM3+ comes out. The battle may be heating up!
-
AMD may experience real problems soon. This was forecast more then a year ago.

Agreed Challenge. Looks like Intels pockets are deep. Good news for Intel users now, possibly bad News for Intel users in the long run. AMD has put themselves in a bad situation trying to keep up with Intel. Hopefully Socket AM3+ will be a smash. If not........ The saga continues.
