Winter War, Finlad vs Russia 1939.

There is more information about the Italians in the Winter War . Over 5000 Italians volunteered in the Finnish embassy in Italia . Mussolini did not let them go , so only 10 Italians managed to arrive in Finland. And 150 Italians arrived from France with a "Garibaldist legion" , commanded by Camillo Marabini (this thing could be interesting, but the only page I find is in Italian). The only Italian dead in this war was the pilot Diego Manzocchi, today buried in Helsinki. And 20 or or airplane mechanics that came with Fiat planes supplied by the Italians. Finland received/bought many airplanes during the winter war , and with them came mechanics.

The Italians fought with the Germans in Russia as well.
The Finns also operated some FIAT G.50 fighters. (another reason I want the G.50)
