Title: Cowboy Headstone
Post by: Tango on January 20, 2009, 06:08:02 PM
Cowboy Headstone

Interesting epitaph... And five rules are at the bottom.

Headstone of Russell J. Larsen in the Logan City Cemetery, Logan, Utah.

I wonder if he died knowing he won the 'Coolest Headstone' contest?

FIVE RULES FOR MEN TO FOLLOW TO A HAPPY LIFE:

1. It's important to have a woman, who helps at home, who cooks from time to time, cleans up and has a job.

2. It's important to have a woman, who can make you laugh.

3. It's important to have a woman, who you can trust and who doesn't lie to you.

4. It's important to have a woman, who is good in bed and who likes to be with you.

5. It's very, very important that these four women do not know each other.

Does no one else see the irony in the fact that this guy died in, of all places, Utah?

What irony?  IIRC that latest and greatest news concerning multiple wives came from which state?  C'mon Diablo... Say it.....  That's right, Texas!

That will be my headstone. So it has been written, so it shall be done.

So now Utah can be put in the "No sense of humor" group as well?  Nice!

Also, that shoot off of that church has only been here since 2004.  Utah's been infamous for polygamy for HOW long?

Thought so.

Yea, I guess you can put Utah right under Texas in the "No sense of humor" group, don't get so defensive I just thought it was ironic and called you on it thinking you had a sense of humor.  Utah has been infamous for polygamy for oh about as long as Utah has been here (since it was settled by a guy with umpteen wives).  Poly's are everywhere here.  I like watching the HBO series "Big Love" because it is kind of like that, except for the fact they actually don't care to hide it.  So Diablo, believe me when I say my reply was in total jest, I have lived in Utah my whole life, and accept the fact we have a very "unique" social climate.  The more I have traveled the more I love it here.  It is where I am from, not who I am.

Ever visit Disney World. By the haunted castle they have a bunch of tombstones with little poems. The one I remember most is "Here lies Dave. Who chased a bear into a Cave". On an insightful note, I think it was my first introduction to Darwin's theory of evolution.

I find very little 'jest' in your initial reply.  But, ok, if you say so.  Nice 1 paragraph reply by the way.

Bah, maybe you shouldn't be the self appointed "no sense of humor" police then.  Whatever, I am glad you enjoyed my paragraph, my day is now complete.
