I found this doing some researh on another topic. Since I know there are a few Romanians that still fly here, I thought this might interest them.

Out of the 50 ordered Hurricanes, Romania eventually only received twelve. This aircraft, "red 3" belonged to Escadrila 53, which in 1941 was included in the Dobruja air command. Its main mission was to defend the Constanta harbour and Cernavoda railway bridge. It also carried out bomber escort missions.
Romania's top-scoring fighter ace, lt.av. Horia Agarici shot down 3 (2 confirmed) Soviet DB-3 bombers over Constanta flying this aircraft on June 25th, 1941.

That EXACT one is already in the game, and has been at least as long as I've been around. Rogerdee did it god knows when.

Wasn't Romania Axis before 1944? How did they get Hurricanes?
Interesting skin though.
-
They weren't officially Axis until 1941, they bought their Hurricanes (and Blenheims) from the Brits in 1939/40. The best way to tell their vintage is that they have the split black/white undersides common to pre-1940 RAF fighters. Most were also originally delivered with 2-bladed constant-pitch props, but later upgraded.
The Germans also gave them the Hurricanes they captured from the Yugoslavian Air Force in return for Rumania allowing the Luftwaffe to use their bases during that operation.
All the Rumanian Hurricanes were concentrated into Escadrila 53 Vanatoare and used to protect the Black Sea ports and cities (mainly Constanta and Mamaia), until they were replaced at that role in 1943 by the former Grupul 7 Bf-109Es that had just been themselves replaced at the front by Bf-109G2 and G4s purchased from the Germans. The last use of the Rumanian Hurricanes was when they were dismantled and their engines used to power the Rumanian Navy's Vosper Torpedo Boats until some time after the war.
None of their Hurricanes are known to have survived the war.

Yes, IMHO it's high time all the Hawker products in the game were given updated models and 'pits, even though two of 'em are 'pay-per-view' ;)

Isnt the tempest the only one that's perked or am I forgetting one?
-
I think the Typhoon is lightly perked in the MW. And the HurriII should be in the EW if it hasn't been since the last time I was in there.
-
Ah yes the typh is perked in MW.

Hm they are indeed already 'fixed' but they dont look like the other AH new models like the F4U's and 262, due to the fact that they were fixed early on, along with the 109, P-51 and P-38.
I personally think that the Spitfire and P-38 look the least behind in terms of cockpit graphics, but what can ya do...

OK, I cant resist posting a few pics. ARR planes are like pr0n for me. :noid

Being rearmed- notice that it has the metal-covered wings, not fabric. Probably an ex-Yugoslav one.
