I dunno what he is up to these days.. been awhile.
I am still up to my eyeballs in job search mode, wadin thru possibilities, ..workin for a registry I actually ran across some places I will not go back to ..just am NOT Flash Gordon yanno?
IMHO it's criminal neglect to demand one LPN take care of more than 15 patients ..15 is my upper limit. That means in a med pass I have two hours, 15 patients comes out to less than 10 minutes per patient, and it's rarely just 'a pill' ..gotta have time to check med, dose, patient, time, document, route, find them, and they usually want to talk or have concerns of their own to address, just gets too crazy at 20+ per LPN.
grr
Hooked up with a Home Health place, very slow atm, but seein patient one-on-one in their home is *excellent*
..I have time to get to know them and connect with their issues, serve as point of contact,
and actually ..you know .. do that 'Nurse' thing :)
Completely different experience than workin a facility.
I was really gettin frustrated by some of the places I had been sent to.

My now Ex is an RN,...she had the same complaints. Not able to give the care she'd really like to and they really need. She's now doing home service through an agency
From what she explains, stay away from Select Specialties (they have locations throughout the country), and from the stories she brought home she's probably right. Horrifying to medical people who really care...from what I am told.
Heard you're pretty happy now,.. that's great.
You flyin the game or just hangin out? If ya have a late night shift and do fly, there's a few of us moldy guys that fly late at night,...you'd be more then welcome.
Really good to see ya around. <S> Glad to see your art work again too, really takes me back in time on several levels. :)

Hiya Animal;
I gave Home Health a try .. driving door to door killed me.
I had forgotten how much I hate being stuck in traffic (even in my Vette) and the roads are always bein tore up it seems.
After some yahoo tried to merge into me on the freeway I told them 'thanks but no thanks'
.. and that wasn't even in July/August, when just the tourists are outside in Phoenix :)
Work with the registry has been very slow .. 2 days of work so far for this year.
On the plus side .. turns out I qualify for Vocational Rehab thru the VA.
To qualify you must have >10 percent service-connected disability, be within 10 years of seperation date *OR* 10 years from award of service-conected disability. (I am 20% as of Sep 2004 .. teach them to wait ..LOL)
So .. I am in the que for orientation and then will have a counselor assigned.
Found a nice Bach of Science degree in Game Design ..
..they hit a lot of areas I would like to develope skills in, ie: Life Drawing, Character Modeling/Animation/Textures, etc.
..it would be great if the VA picked up the tab for it, it would allow me to get sharp on all the latest software and plug into someplace like Blizzard -evil grin- .. no more startups for me mk thx.
They teach using 3dMax and Maya ..(not that I ever saw much difference between 'em ..wasnt much in Maya I could not do in Max)
