Title: Mossie MGs.
Post by: RMrider on January 25, 2009, 08:44:34 PM
The other day was flying a Mossie in the TA waiting for Squad night to begin. Was flying around in external shooting the MGs, no shell casings fell out. The cannons relased shell casings, but the MGs did not.

Minor bug but might as well throw it out there.

While rider's at it, the 109F and G2 don't show shells ejecting either.

All guns are firing in both SS's.

Check your settings to ensure those effects are not disabled in your AH "setup".

They're not. Shells fall from the rest of my aircraft, including the rest of the 109 series.

Could be power saving settings throttling back the CPU, so it stops processing everything, maybe?

Just a wild guess.

Other than that, are you sure the mossie actually ejected its spent .303 shells, rather than collecting them? I don't remember off-hand, but HTC tries to model shells only for the planes that ought to have 'em. [The 109G2 ought to, not sure about mossie]

Thats a good point Krusty, although I dont see why they would eject the cannon shells and not the MG shells...

Often the brass was recycled and re-armed. Cannon shells took up a lot more room, often weren't collected. It was just a plane-by-plane choice for designers. Note the 109E collected all shells, for example, but later 109s ejected the nose cannon, then the MGs too. [Edit: Or, have I put the cart before the horse? Either way they eventually dumped both]

109's don't eject shells IRL from the nose mounted guns.

wrongway

What does it have the ejection ports for, then?
And why do the G6, G14, and K4 eject shells from the nose MG's?

Mosquitoes did not eject their spent .303 shells.  They did eject the spent 20mm shells.
