How many PT boats were sunk by twin engine bombers (or fighter bombers) during WWII? My PT is sunk on a regular basis by B26 Bombers and fighter bombs on a regular basis. PT always at full speed. I guess these Bombers a the best sighters alive or the model needs some adjustment!

Bombs explode when they hit the water in AH. They are probably getting you with balst damage, not actually hitting you with the bomb.
What I have found works in tanks is to do 90 degree direction changes when I see a level bomber over head. It should work just fine with a PT Boat as well.

If you're being hit with a level bombing buff in a PT boat you have a problem. Perhaps putting the boat in gear would help. Another factor to consider would be using a tactic called evasive maneuvers as previously suggested.

Thats odd
whenever i go PT hunting with bombs, I can never hit the damn things.
Even a 1000lb bomb never gets em, the little roaches.

I'm sure many of you use a sight with at least 1 tic. I have a 90% hit rate on PT's w rockets and 70% or so dropping bombs from a fighter. The Il is supposed to be one of the best tank destroyers out there but i rarely fly it.

I am right there with you moose. Little roaches.....

As has been stated, in WW2 many ships and smaller craft were sunk by the shock waves and splinters of HE ordinace exploding nearby. The effect of a 500lb or 1000lb bomb exploding nearby the WOODEN hull of a PT boat going at full speed would be catastrophic.
As a PT boat driver, I think the model is fine - if not slightly in our favor. Watch the gun sight cams of B25s strafing and bombing Japanese destroyers and Patrol Boats some time. OUCH!

lol maverick.
I find the hardest PT to hit is the one thats making a fast medium sized figure 8. Next hardest target is the U turning guys or you can call them the oval track drivers.
