Good luck on ammo. Hope you got some big bank if you're planning to put more than a few rounds through it. .50 cal is through the roof last I saw (which was around $4 per round) Imagine, every time you pull the trigger, you let off a bullet with $4 wrapped around it. Still, wouldn't mind having a Barrett. Pretty neat rifles they have :rock

You may want to find reloading gear if they make it for that caliber. I believe you can use a casing 3 times at
most.

what is the purpose of owning a gun like this? its just seems, ohhh a just a tad bit excessive....
i saw it on future weapons, doesn't seem like civilians have any logical purpose for it

we all own lots of things we don't have logical purposes for.
if he wants a 50 cal, why should he not have one?

If he also bought a heat signature monitoring device he can make use of that gun's ability to shoot through walls. The ultimate defensive weapon. "Leave my house or I'll shoot you! And you'll never see it coming... :t"

I agree, pretty useless but so is my M4. I say if you want it and you're responsible enough then go for it. Let us know how you like it.

I could see someone doing that, and hitting their hot-water heater, or their Home furnace-heating unit instead. :lol

Got a few varmints around here that this thing would work wonders on. They have really baggy pants, wear their hats funny, and drive around in cars that are low to the ground mostly.

Barrett is a rifle company, not a rifle. They make several types of rifles.
Though, with the expense of buying one, operating one, and the lack of a practical purpose of one I can't imagine why you'd want a .50 cal... to each his own I guess.
-
Same reason you would pick up a Makarov at a gun show. Hell, it's just a good conversation piece.
Plus, if ol' Ahmed or Chip Ning-nong comes to town it'll make short work of their pretty little 'armored' cars. Then you get even more neat guns, and for free! Finders keepers!

Perfect Sig material right there.

Kind of like a Corvette.
Those that can, do.

That's the way I feel everytime I urinate.
Sorry, couldn't pass that up.
Back to the topic, it would be cool just to say u have it. Not to mention shoot thru walls.
