You should at least play a game where you can look your oppenent in the eye. The anonymity of the internet is not sufficient reason to make this practice okay.

24,000 WWII-era spies revealed in U.S. documents
The Associated Press
Published: August 14, 2008
"WASHINGTON: The famed chef Julia Child shared a secret with Justice Arthur Goldberg of the Supreme Court and the Chicago White Sox catcher Moe Berg from a time when the Nazis threatened the world.
They served in an international spy network managed by the Office of Strategic Services, a forerunner of the CIA created during World War II by President Franklin Roosevelt.
The full secret was to come out Thursday, all of the names and previously classified files identifying nearly 24,000 people who formed the first centralized intelligence effort by the United States.
The National Archives, which released a list this week of the names found in the records, will make available for the first time all 750,000 pages identifying the vast network of military and civilian operatives."
To steal a line from EA Sports
"If its in the game. Its in the game"
Spies while annoying at times, really dont bother me much.
And they dont really have a significant effect on the game.
Plan your missions better and it wont matter if there is a spy or not. Most missions that fail. Fail because they were both poorly planned and/or executed.More often then not both.
There are some very good mission planners in the game on all sides. I've seen em.
But the ratio of well planned missions to poorly planned ones is about 10-1 in favor of the poorly planned ones.

I had a great convo a day or two ago with a guy named Monkey. He was talking about hunting the spies down and whatnot. I asked how we'd even know someone was a spy and what the hell any of us could do if we could even prove it.
His logic was that if they knew people were looking for them, they'd stop...
Perhaps ROX will be along to tell us all how much of a SPY and LIAR CorkyJr is. (insert barf smiley here)

Its all in the execution......Vince Lombardi said that if you executed the play correctly that you could actually tell the opposing team what play you were going to run and still be successful.

Does switching a contry and picking a noob at one of your bases count as spying? (I always get killed when i do this) :cry
-
Last time I got accused of spying, I was knight and my two squaddies were rook, as I just logged on and haven't switched yet. So, out of spite of the accisers, I typed the position of a CV on 200...what they DIDN'T know, is the CV was already under attack and I was the only one defending it until I switched.
-
I wonder how many spys are there in the FSO?
-
probably 0. You must be in squad uniform in FSO. If you're in one squad you have to be on the same country as your squad or the CMs will boot ya

I think Monkey is fairly new to game play or is very young. Not sure though.
The only cure I know of for spying in AH is counter espionage. :rofl :rofl :rofl

I know spying was a big part of the real war but come on man-this a pretty lame activity-as far as I am concerned you should be ejected or have HT model a firing squad for these dweebs
-
I have figured out how to defeat spies..... tell everyone where your at.

I spend a lot of time in the nurses tent with Nurse Mabel. :pray :aok

well the only possible missions that a spy could threaten is an NOE horde, obviousely a mission that is above dar can be seen by all and if nobody up to defend the base under attack, well thats that country mens fault. so personally i dont see the harm in spies.
as far as cv locations go, well the cv's are tools of the game, dweebs that spirit them away to hide them and not use them for their intended purpose (which is to bring the fight to the enemy) are ridiculous and deserve to have the fleet sunk. use it or lose it, just stop crying about it.
as i stated in another thread on the issue of the NOEers and horde bunnies, if i spot a mission of you heading out to sneak pork the opposing countries ill state your numbers, location and directions on 200 for the world to see.
i have no problem with it. you wanna sneak around and attack undefended bases and them scream its my 15.00 ill play how i want and you like being lame and avoiding the fight is your idea of fun, well thats fine
my idea of fun is giving your location out on 200 and watching your missions get smashed. i think the funnest part and what makes it worth my 15.00 is the whining on 200 after you are all sitting in the tower crying that the base couldnt be taken because it was defended. is not money well spent until i hear at least one of you crying.
i guess this doesnt really make me a spy, i wont hide it ill do it right in the open.
NOE horders are almost always the first to whine about how it is not up to others to tell them how they should or shouldn't play the game, and in this they are correct. no one has the right to tell another how they should play. but that, like all other setting of standards of behavior, are 2 sided swords. it is not the right of the horde monkeys to tell me how i should play either!, so if i get my enjoyment and my monies worth by busting the location of horde-strikes and hidden cv's on 200 WELL IT IS MY 15.00 AND ILL PLAY ANY WAY I WANT!
my only advice, plan your missions above dar and use the cv's (to fight with not to play hide and go seek with), and you will never have to worry about spies. what information could they possibly give up if you actually played the game and didnt try sneaking around pretending you were some kind of cartoon intardnet hero?
play the dam game and have fun. its actually a cool game if you take the time to get involved with actually fighting your opponents not just sneaking around them.
