Title: This ones gonna ruffle feathers...

To everyone who complains about scores, and how people play the game, refer back to kindergarten.  People complaining about shade vulching is rediculous, if you really dont care about your score, then it doesnt effect you whatsoever leave people alone.

I'll bite.

I was there the day we learned about playing fair in kindergarten.  Spirit of the rules and what not.  I don't care about score either.  Let's do away with the ranking at least then then they can kill all the drones they want.

I'd say, "it's their $16" but they could do the same thing off line for free....

I'm sure you wouldn't mind volunteering to let one of these people shoot you down repeatedly.  After all, score doesn't matter.

That's absolutely not true.

People shooting second accounts in remote areas instead of fighting othe rplayers DO affect everyone, even those who "don't care about score".
And it's a slippery slope leading downhill very fast. It's setting bad standards, expecially for new players. Look at EW where such things can lead to.
Also keep in mind most of those actions aren't even about score but about getting perks quick & easy without any risk -> try to circumvent gameplay limits set by HTC for a good reason.

If shade vulching for perks is okay... maybe blocking SB's too? Or taking command of enemy TG's to prevent them from evading your buddy's bombs bombs?

So are you going to tell us what you're talking about?

Or are you just going to be vague?

As bad as shade vulchers are, coming on the bbs and not giving specifics is almost as bad.

Remember, though, HTC doesn't like these discussions on the bbs. In before this gets locked/deleted.

It's not about score, it never was.  That's just the defense that is used by yourself and others that just don't seem to be able to grasp the concept of fair play.  Is it fair play for one person to play the game legitimately, while another player gets to the top by basically cheating the system?  If it goes unchecked, the end result is a community that is rife with cheating and dies as does the game.

So why we don't care about the score, we do care about the state of the game.  Something that seems trivial to you I guess.

How many times do this have to be said?

If you spot an anomaly in the scores/ranks, then send us the information.  Posting it like this on the board is not going to solve anything and just serves to create more angst and frustration.

Do we have to start banning people from the board for doing this before people get a clue?

If you cannot respect our wishes on how to deal with this, then the very feature you are exploiting to do this with will go away.

Maybe this should be the last warning about this.

I take it as, "don't mention names".  IE:  No witch hunting.  Bi*ching about the practice is an entirely different matter.

if you really dont care about your score, then it doesnt effect you whatsoever leave people alone.

Au contraire, it affects us quite a lot.

Many of us - hopefully most of us - play this game to engage in virtual combat.  Score-keeping encourages non-combative behavior.  Don't fight if you're at a disadvantage, you might get shot down and lose all those kills.  Bail from your bomber rather than try to fight off enemy fighters, it minimizes your score loss (NB, this is a fine reason to shoot bailers).  Attack an undefended field, you'll amass attack points and won't risk being shot down and losing them.  The examples are almost endless.

When enough people start paying attention to score, the notion that one should "fly smart" begins to spread.  After awhile, it takes on a life of its own, and actually finding an opponent willing to fight without some advantage, or a squad willing to send its mission into harm's way, becomes much more difficult.  And this produces the effect that we've seen in the MAs for some time now - runners, gangers, vulchers and unopposed hordes.

It does seem kinda strange how you can kill Frackk 62 times in a Sherman last LW tour but never in another tank. And Frackk only killed you 3 times when you were in a Panzer. Nor can I find any other kills on Frackk in any other tour, "not that I looked to close". Imagine the odds of going 0 for 62 against a particular tank, never killing him in another tank, ever killed him before, and only whacked by him 3 times? So I guess two things are possible.

#1, You are the Lord Kind God Boofu of the cartoon GV world and you just need some attention. "Ill be the first to bow to your prowess". "Meanwhile, back at the GV base, Frackk licks his wounds and plots his revenge".

#2, You are an Aces High criminal mastermind and right now your just toying with us like Hannibal Lector.

Either way thanks for brightening up an otherwise dull day.

I logged on one morning and not much happening. I checked out the map and seen a couple Vbases, that last of which spawned to a radar factory. I spawned into 1st Vbase and deacked it, called for troops a couple times while keeping my gun trained at the hanger. No response from anyone. I towered out, brought troops and took the base. I then spawn into 2nd Vbase and deacked it, called for troops several times with no response again. I came back with troops and took it. I thought to myself, "time to get some well earned milking in at the radar factory". I spawn in and this Belial guy is already there milking it! :furious The guy didn't want to put in the effort to take a base but sure as hell showed up when it was time to milk. :lol

That told me then and there what kind of clown this guy is. I wouldn't be afraid to bet that shade vulching is on he to do list. The guy is lame and he defends lameness.

Just curious, how many times do you usually switch countries to capture undefended v-bases?  I've seen you do it in LW (TT) before (remeber, I called you on it)... Granted its not "shade vulching" but just as lame IMO.

Well I don't want you to misunderstand my post. I wasn't bashing you. I'm a long time friend of Shawk's and he's the biggest rank player, historically, in the game.  If you obtain the rank legitimately and that's what brings you joy in the game, I'm all for it and congrats.  :)

Here's my point:
Some people get high rank and can barely hold their plane in a straight line, forget about them being able to fight. The guy that can really fight is the guy who will be recognized as a good stick.  Now, if you can pull off both, rank and prowess, you will have that much more respect.

What in the world is "Shade Vulching"???

A shade, or shade account is having another account where it's not common knowledge that your second ID an your primary ID are really the same person.  (eg. wearing a pair of shades so you won't be recognized.)

Shade vulching is killing your 2nd account just to gain perk points or pad scores for your primary account.  Which could get you in trouble with HTC.

I care about rank as a measurement of how I'm doing against everyone else. I don't have high standards really...I'm thrilled with a 2-1 kill/death ratio. Am I a good stick? I have my moments of brilliance, but most of the time I'm average.

I've had my head handed to me by the likes of Bruv, Shawk, and countless others.

I just try to get better and learn from it.

Sounds like some of that "modern sociology" kay-rap they are trying to teach our children these days. You have heard the mantra "there are no losers, because everyone wins" and "games should not be a competition", also "if someone wins, then others will have their feelings hurt" and other such "evolved" drivel.  I want my children to CRUSH their opponents on the athletically, academically, & intellectually; while maintaining a understanding of sportsmanship, compassion and FAIRPLAY.  My kids will be better than their peers and they will succeed in life without worrying if people like them for being winners and they will do it honesty and integrity.  So in the school where my kids went to kindergarten, they did & do teach children to be winners and how to be modest in their victories while being honest.

So Belial, to me it sounds as if you would rather ignore those that CHEAT and advise those of us that play by the rules to ignore those that are cheaters and adopt the philosophy of "oh well, cheaters should be allowed".  i ask you, would you also like us to ignore Olympians that use steroids, blood doping, or other methods of performance enhancement?  Should we also condone law enforcement that beat suspects?  How about politicians that accept bribes?  Are those all also okay in your opinion?

To those that cheat, I suggest you be recycled to kindergarten; as you all obviously missed the day where honesty, integrity and sportsmanship were covered.  Perhaps a good whacking on your parents is also in order; nah, just sent them back to kindergarten too i think.  Suffice it to say that those who cheat in a game where the measure is how well you do against another person doing their best to defeat you, in which you choose to cheat and kill shade "players" is totally reprehensible and despicable.

Yours Truly,
Another run-of-the-mill-player that is here for the fun of the contest with real people.

The only thing in this game that bothers me is connection issues, i never know if someone is discoing or pulling the plug on me.  And no i don't condone cheating, but i don't think its any of your concerns i think the higher ups should and will take care of it.  I guess my point is keep your "i don't care about score" mentality.  I realize being #1 doesn't win me anything, but i get the urge to be the best, even though i realize i will never be #1 fighter :frown: .  And the the guy that asked what i'm doing with my life, i am in my fourth semester of college studying criminal justice.  This guy could very likely pull you over when your driving through Pennsylvania, I plan on getting my bachelors and joining the State Police.

I thought so. This "guy" is just a kid looking for attention. No harm in it, in the grand scheme of things.

Believe me when you get that tin star, should you get it, you'll discover there are far more important things in life then your AH GV score. And I doubt you'll start threads with the intention of just getting "attention" to it. BTW you must avoid IL-2s like the plauge. I dont remember murdering you before so you dont come into air bases.

And never forget. A Policeman is a "public servant" not somebody who makes veiled comments about "pulling people over". A State Police academy is on my resume and you got a little seasoning needed before you get into one.

To everyone who complains about scores, and how people play the game, refer back to kindergarten.  People complaining about shade vulching is rediculous, if you really dont care about your score, then it doesnt effect you whatsoever leave people alone.

What is it with you..

I was just flying in TT and u was saying

"oh im so good if i landed every time i had 2 kills i would spam the buffer"

In tour 79, I had 933 kills in GVs in 51.5 hours. That's 1 kill every 3.5 minutes...  :noid
