Title: Random Systems Failures (RSF)
Post by: Yeager on January 12, 2001, 08:16:00 AM
I dont much care for the idea of having random system failures in the MA (Main Arena).

If RSF (random system failures) can be coded effectivley then have it as an option for CMs to activate in scenarios and such just leave it out of standard MA operations.

Definitely no.

We already had experience with this when various planes were shedding wings for no reason earlier.

As much as I like the idea of realism for scenarios, I have to vote NO.  Scenarios take a rather large committment of time and a lot of preparation.  I really don't like the idea of attending a couple of practice sessions, getting all the maps and orders, learning the route and targets, waiting online for 30 minutes to take off, flying 45 minutes to target, only to see "bomb door failure" when I get there.

It would be too hard on the wife and dog.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Random system failures, and total engine management kinda cross the line into the "ohh for gods sake" relm of realism.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
