I should have had them up on Saturday but I'm tardy, as many of you know. They'll be up by Moanday I guarantee.

Oops, got my months mixed up.

Well, February's SatKOTH I have to say goes into the record books for the shortest KOTH. With 27 pilots, it only took 3 rounds for Grizz to take a 1,2,3 round sweep to win the KOTH. Congradulations and <S> to Grizz on a job well done. March SatKOTHs first ride will be the P47D-40.
Round by round results:
[1] Grizz in a F6F-5
[2] Grizz in a Ki-84-Ia (wabbit)
[3] Grizz in a Ta 152H-1 (Winner)
Tournament Of Champions invitations will be reserved for:
KOTH: Grizz

Gunny made some funny comments later in the MA. 'Grizz you ruined Koth. Koth should not end until AkDogg can barely keep his eyes open and is begging for someone to win hours and hours later' :lol
-
That's true. Stupid grizzface. I didn't even get to fly because it ended so early.
-
I think he's right Grizz. Most people who play in there play to have fun, not to win. Most of the good players (incuding yourself) can do what you did, but would rather have a good time.
He realy does have a point.

Highly debatable.

Well, like I said most of the good players go to have fun, or make fun ;)

:lol
Most good players can win Sat KOTH in 3 rounds? It was more luck than anything else since I didn't get ganged once, but I think it's silly to say it's something easy to accomplish. Here I'll make you a deal, I'll send you a check for $100 if you can win a Sat KOTH anytime for the rest of the year in 3 rounds.
Btw, it was my first KOTH win ever so I don't feel too bad about it. I'm glad I won one.

I could have sworn you've had to hear one or two whines about your playing style in KOTH's past... :P
But, yeah, seriously, Grizz... This is an event where we try to punish AKdogg and ruin his sleep schedule. Try to get with the program :D

I've only ever won once, that was only to get into TOC, and to win for the first time. Took me 2 hours though :P
I'm sure there has been alot of whines about my style, including every one else's, someone always does it. :D
-
Was only my 3rd KOTH. Never really cared enough to look into it in the past.
Seriously though, I flew very loose and reckless. I have the films, all they will show is that the planets were aligned for me on that day, not that I did anything gamey to win.
Oh and if I hadn't been going for my first KOTH win, I would have tanked that last round against Tec to extend the event for everyone. But TonyJoey was there who hadn't lost a Koth Yet in 2009 and it was time for that to end. :)
-
We all know that Tony is young and eager. :)
-
I'm just messing with you, Grizz... It was some darn nice flying :salute
Still can't believe BOTH of us fell for your rope at the same time :)
-
Now we all know if I was able to participate in SatKOTH, Grizz would not have won it in 3 rounds, hehehehe. :devil :devil :salute

True :) It would probably take 4 or 5. :P

I appologize for being a little offtopic here... but I'm getting interested in trying KOTH sometime soon and was wondering if there were films posted anywhere that I could view before I step in and embarass myself. ;)
-
IMO film wont do the event justice, it would only show the fights. Part of KOTH is the social banter in the Tower afterwards.
Stop in and visit. It will take a few KOTHs to get used to the event though.
And my reply to the discussion on SatKOTH results. A definite 'no comment.'
-
Qrsu I'll look for a film or two I have that really shows what KOTH can be when it's at it's best.
-
if all them guys can't gang a wabbit then the event deserves to end.
Well done Grizz.

In their defense BiPolar was yelling at everybody while we were on climbout on round 3. He distracted them enough to let me get seperation.

Minor note for accuracy. While February may have been the shortest SatKOTH, the September '08 FriKOTH was shorter time wise and was the first actual natural KOTH win, with BruV119 winning in three rounds
